Factual error: At the end of the film, when Ramu is on the Sally Jesse Raphael show, even if it was being broadcast live in New York, it certainly wouldn't be broadcast live in India for his family to watch. Also, India is 9 1/2 hours ahead of New York. If Ramu's family are watching the show when it's daytime in New York, it's awfully light outside!
The Guru (2002)
Directed by: Daisy von Scherler Mayer
Starring: Marisa Tomei, Heather Graham, Michael McKean, Dash Mihok, Jimi Mistry
Visible crew/equipment: When Rami is walking through the street with his friend, just after talking about the Karma Sutra, you can see the camera and crew members in the reflection of the windows.
Continuity mistake: Near the start, the man's mother puts a yellow dot on his head (just before he gets in the taxi), right in between his eyebrows. After the older woman has kissed him, it suddenly changes to being white and is suddenly a line which goes further up his forehead. And when she kisses him she doesn't touch it so the change can't be put down to her smudging it.
Vijay: You have a roof over your head, clothes on your back, food in your belly, what more do you want?
Ramu Gupta: I want what you promised.
Vijay: Name one famous Indian in America.
Sanjay: That guy from the Simpsons.
Vijay: He is a cartoon.
Sharonna: My pussy is the gateway to my soul.
