Factual error: Hooch is a french mastiff. The dog he gets pregnant is a collie. Different breed dogs do not make purebred puppies. Hooch's pups would be part collie, part mastiff. In the end of the movie, one pup is pure mastiff like hooch and 4 are pure collies like their mother.
Turner & Hooch (1989)
Directed by: Roger Spottiswoode
Starring: Tom Hanks, Craig T. Nelson, Mare Winningham, Reginald VelJohnson
Continuity mistake: While Tom Hanks is driving to the motel after leaving the fish packing plant, scratches are on his face and blood is on his ear. When he pulls into the parking lot of the motel, the scratches are gone.
Continuity mistake: When Turner is taking Hooch to see the vet and he is running alongside the car, on the long pole with his leash dangling behind him. In some shots the leash is secured to his collar and in others it is just loose.
Amos Reed: Let him go, Hooch! I'm sorry, Scott. I don't have the hand-strength I used to. You're OK, aren't you?
Scott Turner: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I was looking forward to a nice quiet cup of coffee, but NOW I'M awake.
Scott Turner: These are the simple rules. No barking, now growling, you will not lift your leg to anything in this house. This is not your room. No slobbering, no chewing, you will wear a flea collar. This is not your room. No begging for food, no sniffing of crotches, and you will not drink from my toilet. This is not your room.
Scott Turner: Here's a muffin for Hooch. I got a muffin for Hooch. Here's a muffin for Hooch. I got a muffin for Hooch. Here's a muffin for Hooch. I brought a muffin for Hooch! Here's a muffin Hooch... I GOT A muffin FOR hooch.
