Continuity mistake: When Toula goes to meet Ian at the school where he works, and they are talking in the hallway, her arms occasionally move from behind his neck to the front of his shoulders. The continuity is correct at the bgeinning of the scene, but at the end it happens a few times. (00:48:05)
My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002)
Directed by: Joel Zwick
Starring: John Corbett, Nia Vardalos, Joey Fatone, Michael Constantine, Christina Eleusiniotis, Kaylee Vieira
Continuity mistake: After Toula scrunches up the college flier, she reopens it and, in doing so, she rips a corner off it. When she takes it out in another scene, it is clearly the same flier but the corner is intact. (00:16:05)
Factual error: In the scene in the church where Ian is being baptized, he is in black shorts. In the Greek Orthodox Church, he would be required to wear white when being baptized.
Trivia: The man who plays Ian's friend Mike is played by Ian Gomez, who is Nia Vardalos' husband in real life.
Trivia: In the Easter scene, Aunt Voula comes over to Ian and Toula and says to Ian, "Let me touch your hair". This was not in the script. Voula forgot her lines and immediately came up with the hair improv.
Maria Portokalos: Toula, on my wedding night, my mother, she said to me, "Greek women, we may be lambs in the kitchen, but we are tigers in the bedroom."
Toula Portokalos: Eww. Please let that be the end of your speech.
Toula Portokalos: There are three things that every Greek woman must do in life: marry Greek boys, make Greek babies, and feed everyone.
Gus Portokalos: There are two kinds of people - Greeks, and everyone else who wish they was Greek.
