Revealing mistake: The wide shot of the exterior of Drearcliffe House is a recycling of the wide shot of the church where Meade and his Nazi colleagues were hiding in "Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror." It can't be the same place, as the mansion is located in Scotland and the church in England. (00:01:21)

The House of Fear (1945)
Directed by: Roy William Neill
Starring: Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Aubrey Mather
Continuity mistake: After Mrs. Monteith hands MacGregor's letter to Lestrade, she walks behind Watson and begins to walk behind Holmes when the shot changes. In the next shot, which focuses on Holmes opening Lestrade's envelope, Mrs. Monteith has disappeared.
John Simpson: Cosgrave! Must you pace up and down like a monkey in a ruddy cage?
Alan Cosgrave: I fail to see how what I do can concern you!
Bruce Alastair: Simpson! Cosgrave! Cannot we behave like Good Comrades?
John Simpson: Doesn't anything ever get on your nerves, Alistair?
Bruce Alastair: Oh dear me, no. I have no nerves.
Dr. John H. Watson: I'm sorry I'm late. I didn't sleep very well.
Sherlock Holmes: You didn't sleep very well? You snored like a pig.
Sherlock Holmes: At the moment I suspect no-one and everyone.
