Continuity mistake: When Nick and Javi switch shoes, the camera shot on the floor shows that the shoes they have already switched are on their right feet. When they switch permanently, they both give each other a right shoe.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)
Directed by: Tom Gormican
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Pedro Pascal, Jacob Scipio
Plot hole: When Cage and his wife and mates are going to the FBI safehouse the FBI agent shoots 2 baddies two separate times whilst Cage etc. are ascending the stairs, yet they don't hear the gunshots.
Continuity mistake: When Cage backs the silver Porsche into a car while trying to escape the people "following" him and Javi, you see a broken taillight lens fly through the air. You see the back of the car when they drive into the compound and both taillights are intact.
Trivia: Nicolas Cage originally didn't want to make the film, as he felt uncomfortable with the idea of playing himself in a movie. The director wrote him a very nice note, explaining why the movie was important to him and how they wanted to celebrate Cage's wild and varied career, which won Cage over.
Trivia: In the movie, all of Nicolas Cage's tattoos are hidden with makeup and his nickname is spelled "Nick" instead of the usual "Nic" to subtly indicate that while the character is indeed inspired by the real-life Nicolas Cage, it's an exaggerated "movie version" of him.
Trivia: Nicolas Cage suggested swapping parts with Pedro Pascal at one point, and having Pascal plays the "character" of Nicolas Cage while Cage would play his biggest fan Javi. He thought it might give the movie a weird, extra-meta edge. But the idea was quickly dropped when he realised Pascal was perfect for the part of Javi.
Richard Fink: You've been living in the Sunset Towel for over a year.
Nick Cage: They love having me there.
Richard Fink: You owe them $600,000.
Nick Cage: OK, I'm going to deal with all that.
Nick Cage: I'm going to get this next role. And when I do, all of that changes. Then, I'll be back.
Richard Fink: Not that you went anywhere.
