Other mistake: Two cars with the same license plate numbers are seen as the minions are hitch hiking on the road. The plates of the hippie wagon and the old lady's car both read D-6413.
Minions (2015)
Directed by: Pierre Coffin, Kyle Balda
Starring: Sandra Bullock, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, Jon Hamm
Factual error: When the minions are attempting to purchase tickets to get in to see/steal the crown, the admission prices on the wall are priced as £s and pence (decimal currency). As this was 1968, Britain was still using pre-decimal pounds, shillings and pence.
Other mistake: In the end credits, the additional voices are listed alphabetically by last name (column form); however Carlos Alazraqui is listed before Lori Alan.
Trivia: At Villain-Con, right after Scarlet Overkill throws the wrestler off the stage and down the stairs, as Kevin, Bob, and Stuart turn and run back up the aisle, the host of The Dating Game they were watching in the department store can be seen seated to their right.
Scarlett Overkill: Do you know who this is?
Kevin the Minion: Uh... La cucaracha?
Scarlett Overkill: This is Queen Elizabeth! Ruler of England! And I really, really, really want her crown.
Scarlett Overkill: Work for me, and all this will be yours: respect, power...
Stuart the Minion: Banana!
Scarlett Overkill: ...Banana.
Herb Overkill: Woah! These guys are pumped!
Scarlett Overkill: Maybe I'll settle them down with a bedtime story.
Bob the Minion: Bedtime story?
Scarlett Overkill: Once upon a time, there were three little pigs. The pigs encountered a big, bad wolf, who hired the three pigs to come work for her. One day, the pigs did something very stupid, so the wolf huffed, and puffed and she BLEW THEM OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH! The end.

Chosen answer: The writers wanted to keep Gru's cameo at the end of the film a secret for the fans of the franchise. So, saying "42 Years B.G" (before Gru) in the trailer doesn't give the surprise away.
