Other mistake: In the windmill scene, the windmill reverses directions twice to signal the airplane. However when Joel McRae enters the windmill and we see the machinery it is obvious that there is no mechanism to reverse the windmill against the wind.
Foreign Correspondent (1940)
Directed by: Alfred Hitchcock
Starring: George Sanders, Joel McCrea, Herbert Marshall, Laraine Day
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene on the airplane, last 1/3rd of the film, the plane crashes into the ocean and the camera shot starts bouncing up and down - you can see the airplane has no roof and the studio lights are visible.
Trivia: Hitchcock's cameo comes twelve minutes into the movie - he can be seen wearing a hat and coat and reading a newspaper after Joel McCrea leaves the hotel.
Mr. Powers: Foreign correspondent! I could get more news out of Europe looking in a crystal ball.
John Jones: I'm in love with a girl, and I'm going to help hang her father.
Mr. Powers: Wait a minute! I've got something that might pass for an idea.
