Continuity mistake: After Lois tells Jimmy that she doesn't like who he may think he has become, the buckle on his camera strap changes and the size of his necklace becomes smaller. (00:44:55)
Continuity mistake: Jimmy says, "Speaking of change, how about the Big S?"and then walks off camera. The camera changes and suddenly Lois has moved forward closer to the wall. (00:45:00)
Continuity mistake: When Lois says maybe it's reporter's nose or woman's intuition, she reaches into her purse. Jimmy is looking at her but his body is facing to the side. It cuts to a different angle as he speaks and suddenly his full body is facing her. (00:45:15)
Continuity mistake: Jimmy picks up the newspaper Lois hands him and sees the picture of Lex and Superman together. He says "Okay weird." Then the camera changes angles and now the shapes on the back of the paper are a little different, most notably the large box next to Jimmy's right hand vanishes. (00:45:25)
Continuity mistake: When Jimmy is looking at the newspaper in the ally with Lois, there is a small trashcan behind him. It's an olive green color and is dented. Then after he throws the paper at Lois and begins to walk off, the can is now gray, larger, and no longer dented. (00:45:40)
Character mistake: As Lex is studying the recording of when Superman's body vanishes, he says "A 19 second black out at 3:47 AM." But the clock on the video shows it goes from 3:47:05 when the blackout starts, to 3:47:26. The blackout was 21 seconds, not 19. (00:45:55)
Continuity mistake: After Lex discovers Superman's body is missing, the scene changes to Superman's robot having his body in a revival chamber, healing him. There are pipes and a panel on the side of the container. When it cuts to the robot, then back to the chamber from a different angle, there is now more space between the panel and the pipes. And now the pipes are not bending to go straight down but diagonally to the left towards a machine. (00:46:15)
Continuity mistake: When Superman first wakes up back at the Fortress of Solitude after his body is recovered by his robot, the first thing be sees is the robot looking down at him. In that shot, the 4 lines that form the robot's mouth are much thicker than any time before, and they are unevenly spaced and shaped. (00:47:10)
Continuity mistake: After Superman wakes up and sees the robot reviving him, the camera pulls back to a far shot to show him on an operating table with a machine beside him on each side, and a board with digital display behind the robot. When it cuts to Superman's perspective of the robot, the machine to his left changes shape some, and the display on the board is a little different, most noticeably the part in the bottom middle has a pointed corner instead of a cut off corner. Continuity mistake: As the police car with Toyman in it arrives at the police station, there are 5 cops standing at the bottom of the steps in front of the station standing it two groups. Three side by side, and then two off to the side. There are also several civilians close to the steps. Then it cuts to a bird's eye view of the station and suddenly there are only 4 cops in front of the station, and their arrangement has changed. And the civilians around the station are suddenly much further away from the steps. (00:48:00)
Continuity mistake: Dark Superman comes and takes Toyman from the cops. As he does, the police car is a good distance behind them. Then the shot shows Superman take Toyman up in the air, then back to the cops. Suddenly the police car is right behind them by just a few feet. (00:48:15)
Continuity mistake: In the shot where Toyman hits the police car and is killed by Dark Superman, there is the police crest on the door and the headlights have no distinguishable blinkers. It cuts to Superman flying off then back to Toyman and now the door is blank, and the headlights have blinkers. Also another police car appears behind the vehicle that was not there. (00:48:45)
Other mistake: After Dark Superman kills Toyman, someone calls Lois and tells her that. She answers the phone and says "Lane... HE DID WHAT!?" She responds to the news way too quickly. There wasn't even enough time for the person on the other end to say anything, much less inform Lois that Superman killed someone. (00:48:55)
Continuity mistake: As Lois makes her way to the scene where Toyman was killed, there is a green sheet over his body on the police car. There is blood going from his exposed hands down the side of the car to the ground, but there is no blood on the top of the sheet. Then when Lois sees Jimmy snapping pictures of the scene, there is suddenly quite a bit of blood on the green sheet. Then when the camera shows a high angle of the vehicle with the dead Toyman on it, the blood is gone once again. (00:49:10)
Continuity mistake: When Lois pushes her way through a crowed to see where Toyman was killed, she pushes buy a blond guy with a camera that has a badge like thing attached to his shirt, my guess is a press pass. After she sees Jimmy on the other side and then it cuts back to her, suddenly the press pass on this guy has changed shape slightly and is smaller, and lower down on his shirt. (00:49:15)
Continuity mistake: When Lois sees Jimmy taking pictures of where Toyman was killed, you see him lower his camera to his chest, then down to his stomach. It cuts to a close up of him, and suddenly his camera is at his chest again. (00:49:15)
Continuity mistake: Once Lois arrives at the scene of Toyman's death, she sees the police car he is on with people all around but no barricades. Then when the camera shows a top down view after she walks away, suddenly there are police barricades all around blocking people away. (00:49:25)
Continuity mistake: When we first see the old woman with her cat stuck in a tree, it's a higher angle showing the cat. This shot shows the cat is near the center of the tree on the left side of the tree, right where the tree splits off into two even sides. But then it cuts to a close up of the cat, and suddenly the cat is further out on a much smaller branch, and now on the other side of the tree as can tell by the way the limb is shaped. (00:49:55)
Continuity mistake: In the overhead shot of the cat in the tree with the old lady, you can see the small stairs behind the lady with nothing beside them but a tree. It cuts to the cat in the tree then to the lady, and suddenly two trashcans appear beside the stairs under the window. The tree is not big enough to have covered both of them up in the previous shot. (00:50:00)
Continuity mistake: When Dark Superman is confronting the old lady about letting her cat out, police cars drive up and spotlight him. Dark Superman's shadow is cast on the wall beside him, and on the small balcony. But when the camera angle changes, his shadow is on the bricks, not close to the balcony. (00:50:45)
Answer: It was his way of coping with grief after Superman dies. Jimmy felt he needed to be in a new environment, away from painful memories. Similarly, Perry White turned to alcohol for solace, while Lois Lane sought out Clark's mother, Martha Kent for help.
