Factual error: Hansen's Bakery is across the street from a Chevron Food Mart. Not only did Chevron Food Marts not exist in the 80s, but the real Hansen's Bakery was on the corner of 9th and Ingra. There was (and still is) a wooded lot across the street from it. The nearest Chevron Food Mart is on 5th and Ingra, four blocks away. (00:12:45 - 00:13:00)

Factual error: The film is set in 1983. When the sister of one of the missing girls is talking to Nicholas Cage in a diner and gets up to leave, there is a Tripadvisor sticker on the door she leaves from. Tripadvisor was founded in 2000.

Factual error: After Debbie and her dog enter the truck near the start, as the truck makes a U turn there's a white 2012 Nissan Altima parked under the Park Here sign on the left side on a cross street. This movie is based in 1983. (00:12:25)

Factual error: When Halcombe and Gentile are walking down 4th Avenue, behind them can be seen the 5th Avenue Mall Parking Garage and the skybridge to the mall, both of which were built in 1987, 4 years after the film takes place. (00:15:20)
