Piranha 3D

Continuity mistake: When Jake goes into the water with the tow rope around his waist, the rope is going over the top and through the railing of the boat. When he gets pulled away with the girl, the rope is seen down in the water.

Continuity mistake: When Novak hops in the boat to join the sheriff as she races off to rescue her children, he is wearing shoes/boots. Later, when they are pulling Jake and Kelly out of the water, Novak is barefoot.

Continuity mistake: The little girl steps on glass. Later in the movie when they are climbing across the rope, there's no cut on her foot.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, when the sheriff falls into the pond reaching for the boat, she comes out dragging the body but is not wet at all. I guess being in "Back to the Future Part 2" helped her get the self-drying clothes.

Factual error: All propane tanks for the last 30 or so years have a safety valve which prevents them from simply releasing gas when the valve is turned on. Given these tanks looked brand new and Jake only turns them on, the gas would not have been released.

Suggested correction: The propane tanks they use are PEN15 models and the safety mechanism is easily circumvented.

Trivia: In the opening scene with Richard Dreyfuss fishing on the lake he is singing to himself "show me the way to go home". This is a nod to the movie Jaws because it is the song that he sang along with the rest of the crew as they waited for the tagged shark to be re-sighted. (00:01:00)
