Corrected entry: During the final aerial battle at Hammer's expo, when War Machine's suit is still compromised and he is helping Iron Man evade Whiplash's drones, Iron Man accidentally once refers to War Machine as "Don," as in Don Cheadle, when War Machine's name is James Rhodes.
Corrected entry: When Natalie asks Tony for his fingerprint when handing over the company to Pepper, Tony gives his fingerprint while still wearing his boxing glove.
Correction: Throughout the scene, it can be seen that Tony's gloves leave the tips of his fingers and thumbs exposed.
Corrected entry: While the Black Widow is fighting in the hallway near the end of the movie, she uses a rope and wraps it around a guy's neck. When Happy is finished with his one guy he is fighting you see a guy hanging from the ceiling. She never hung anyone from the ceiling.
Correction: The scene cuts from a shot of the Black Widow fighting to a long shot of Happy finishing his fight with one guard. The Black Widow has plenty of time off camera to hang the guard she is fighting from the ceiling. In the Theatrical Cut you saw exactly how the guard got up there, they cut it for some reason.
Corrected entry: When Hammer leaves Whiplash to go to the Expo, he leaves him at the Hammer headquarters in NY (Queens, to be exact). The Expo is in California though, and when Scarlet Johansen leaves the Expo, she goes to Hammer to get Whiplash. How can that be when the Expo is in CA and Whiplash is at Hammer in NY?
Correction: The Stark Expo is in Queens, NY. You can actually see the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Park next to it.
Corrected entry: During the movie S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson tells Tony Stark that he has to go because "Director Fury wants me in New Mexico". That something is Thor.
Correction: Thor's hammer is shown at the very end of this film, and Agent Coulson appears in the Thor movie, making this far too obvious to be valid trivia.
Corrected entry: After the scene where Tony Stark takes strawberries to Pepper in the office, as he leaves after everyone else he pauses to look at the 'Expo' city model. In the next scene he has the model disassembled and sticking up out of his care as he speeds down the highway. Then in the next scene after he has reassembled the model he blows dust from it. After being driven at high speed, much less all the handling to disassemble and reassemble it, the model should not have any significant dust on it.
Corrected entry: While Tony is being attacked at Monaco he hits Whiplash with the "suitcase" when it is supposed to be in the car with Pepper and Hogan still: they do not toss the case to him until later on in the scene.
Correction: This is not the suitcase. It's a panel from one of the destroyed cars.
Corrected entry: During a scene at the military base a vast selection of military aircraft are shown. One of them is the B2 Stealth bomber. These are ONLY kept at Whiteman Air base in Missouri.
Corrected entry: During the entire fight scene in the hallway of Hammer Industries, Natasha Romanoff only has a pistol on her left hip. None of the guards she takes out have guns, but when she busts into Vanko's room, she is holding two pistols.
Correction: Incorrect. Natasha carries a Walter PPK/S on her hip while entering the building. The guards shown have holstered H&K USP compact pistols. Considering how many she beat up to get there, it is conceivable that she stopped to grab a USP out of an unconscious guard's holster before breaching the control room with her PPK as well as the guard's USP.
Corrected entry: In the shot where Ivan Vanko is looking at his fake passport we can see that his nationality is written as Russkaja in Russian. However that would mean that he is a female.
Correction: No, it means that the Russian word for nationality is feminine. This also happens in French, for example, where nationality would be written as Française, Canadienne, etc. even for a man.
Corrected entry: At the end of the movie, Tony stark sits at a desk with the Initiative preliminary report before him. Before he picks up the report in the foreground for a few moments you can see a news report with an Asian female reporter. However, this report has been looped as you see the same people walk past the reporter twice and her making the same facial expressions.
Correction: Of course it's looped. This isn't live - it would be a bit too much of a coincidence for the Hulk's battle at Culver University to be being reported live at that very moment. This is an earlier report on that battle that SHIELD have recorded; as such, hardly unreasonable for it to be displayed in a looped format.
It's an extremely short loop, is my point. Like, 3 seconds.
Corrected entry: When Tony is creating the new element, he deflectes the prismatic accelerator's beam, which pretty much cuts everything it touches before reaching the new triangular core. However, the beam does not cut through the accelerator's own containment glass, and just passes through it. This is seen in the shot where the prism is rotating and the beam is starting to be deflected, as it has its own VFX for the beam diffraction on glass.
Correction: And? With a detailed explanation as to why this is a mistake, this would be considered a mistake.
Corrected entry: When Rhodey is in Tony's office he points out a stain on the right of Tony's neck due to the blood toxicity. Later when Natalie asks Tony which watch he will wear that night the stain switches to the left side of his neck.
Correction: When we first see Tony ask Natalie about the watch, we see his image in the mirror he is looking at. Hence the flipped image.
Corrected entry: When Pepper and Tony Stark are in the CEO office, just before Tony takes the expo model home, a few things go wrong. Look behind Pepper and see the word Stark, from Stark Industries, appearing and disappearing behind Pepper. Then when Tony Stark opens the door, he looks at the model over his left shoulder. Next shot, he's looking over his right shoulder and is eating a strawberry from the punet he has just thrown in the bin.
Correction: The appearance/disappearance of the Stark sign appears to be simply related to the angle of the shot. And Stark clearly takes a strawberry from the punnet before dropping it in the bin - his movements are very clear as he takes one and puts it in his mouth.
Corrected entry: At the scene where Tony Stark was making the new element, the circular holder was supposedly cut by the laser beam that was directed into the triangle. However, when he went forward to pick the element up, the cut/burn line was not there and everything was intact.
Correction: After the element has been made you only see the holder from the back and since the beam didn't cut all the way through the holder its still intact at the back.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Tony Stark is testifying before Congress, Pepper Pots disappears and then reappears, and then finally disappears again about half way through.
Correction: She is not allowed to leave her seat? She leaves her seat the moment Justin Hammer starts talking. Seems like a good moment.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Tony is watching his fathers film and reading through his notebook, he picks up a plastic bottle and drinks from it. In the following shot, the bottle has changed to a glass of alcohol.
Correction: Maybe he had both on the table.
Correction: He never picks up a plastic bottle. It's always the glass that was sitting next to him. And it seems to be Dr. Pepper and not alcohol. In the shot before he picks up the glass he's holding his PDA and stylus up to his mouth and maybe that's what you thought was the bottle.
Corrected entry: During the scene when Hammer is about to lock Whiplash in the white room before going to the expo, in some shot Whiplash has his jacket unzipped showing his white vest underneath but in two shots his jacket is zipped up to his neck.
Correction: In between shots he had plenty of time to zip up his jacket.
In the scene the jacket goes from slightly unzipped to more unzipped to fully zipped up and back to unzipped and then back to zipped up. While he could have been zipping it up and unzipping it and zipping back up off-screen, it's unreasonable to think he was doing that and not a valid correction given he stays in the same position, isn't seen fiddling with the zipper when on screen, and we don't hear anything. In the context of the film and the spirit of the site, it's a valid mistake.
The mistake is about 1 shot. You can add a new mistake talking about the whole sequence if you want. I would be careful though, the jacket itself could simply be moving as well, without the zipper moving. At one point showing a lot of white shirt, in the next a lot less, simply by movement of the jacket. Only in the very last shot is the zipper actually up, which is the shot the mistake was about.
Correction: He says "locked on" not "don".
