Continuity mistake: Many times through out the film the red bag that contains all the money is not seen with the main group, even though they supposedly keep it with them at all times. The most noticeable example is when the two main characters first fly into Spain in the balloon and when the interior of the basket is visible the bag has simply vanished, but they have it again later.

He believes he lost the bet (and spent the other half of his fortune during the journey), but forgot that since he travelled east, he picked up a day. He arrives at the Reform Club with seconds to spare, and wins his bet.

Stationmaster: I'll be darned if I understand you city folks. Always rushing, rushing, rushing. Always thinking about the future. No wonder you have stomach trouble.
Trivia: There was no balloon in Jules Verne's book. Thank to this film, most people now can't imagine "Around the World in 80 Days" without the balloon. (Gas balloon, not a hot air balloon as most people think).
