Revealing mistake: The window in the door of the trailer that got pushed over the cliff is quite obviously made of a plastic film. You can see that it is wobbling when they bang the door. (00:57:28)
Factual error: When the first half of the trailer is hanging over the cliff, the second half is pulled towards the edge. But the pull from the first half would be going downwards - in a 90-degree angle to the position of the first half. That would not pull the second half outwards, but more lift the end up. (00:59:35)
Visible crew/equipment: In the trailer cliff scene when the rope comes undone, all three actors fall towards the bottom and certain death. The actor/stunt man to the right is harnessed and, to top it off, his hands never grab the ledge. (01:02:40)
Continuity mistake: When Sarah gets those cuts on her head, they seem to dissappear or get smaller in number as the movie progresses. (01:03:15 - 01:18:05)
Factual error: When Roland is walking in the pouring rain and talking about killing the T-Rex, he has his gun slung over his shoulder vertically and barrel-upwards. If you were to do this in real-life in a tropical rainstorm for very long, you would run the risk of water entering the barrel and causing problems with the gun. And as a professional hunter Roland would know better. (01:07:50)
Continuity mistake: The day after the T-Rex attack, when they are all walking towards the control complex, Sarah is asked about the blood on her shirt, and answers that it's from last night, but it's too humid for the blood to dry. Nevertheless all their clothes - which ought to have been soaked during the rain storm, are completely dry. (01:09:40)
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Ian is speaking to Mr. Ludlow while the group is walking through the rain. If you watch in the background when Ian says the word "Long" something falls from the top of the screen. An extra even follows the item as it falls, you can see his head move. Hard to miss. (01:11:30)
Suggested correction: It's a leaf. I'm struggling to think of what piece of equipment it could possibly have been.
Continuity mistake: When the T-Rexes are far away their steps make the ground shudder so it can be seen in the water puddles. However when they are nearby the same does not occur. (01:17:35)
Continuity mistake: The tent scene in which Sarah and Kelly are sleeping, wrappers from cookies or food are in the first shot. When the angle changes the wrappers are gone, but Sarah hides the reappearance of the wrappers in the next shot. (01:18:50)
Continuity mistake: When Sarah looks up at her jacket, the bag of snacks is on the opposite side of Kelly. The bag is closed and the chocolate bars are unopened. Also, there are no crumbs between the two characters. But as the T-Rex is approaching, Sarah is gathering the now opened snacks and dusting crumbs off the top of their sleeping bag that was not there in the overhead shot. (01:21:29)
Continuity mistake: As the camera pans from Ian to the tent, Sarah, the lantern is out and the front flaps are open/tied back. From the interior shots, that lantern is still lit and the flaps are hanging loose. (01:21:39 - 01:22:07)
Continuity mistake: As the team are making their way through the long grass and are attacked by the Raptors we see a black man holding a torch turn around and look up into the air and scream. The camera changes and then the Raptor jumps in the air and on to him. He looked up into the air before there was anything in the air to look at. (01:23:55)
Continuity mistake: Roland loads his rifle with a dart and aims at a dinosaur. From the aerial view he is half a step away from a big puddle behind. From a close-up when he walks backwards the puddle is gone. (01:25:00)
Continuity mistake: When Jeff Goldblum is trapped in the car with the raptor outside, the raptor bumps into the window, cracking it. There's no hole in the centre of the crack in the shot of the raptor, but when we see a shot of Jeff Goldblum a second later, there's suddenly a hole in the window. (01:30:05)
Continuity mistake: When they're in the shack, and the raptors are making the walls shake, the lights wire guard falls off the wall and lands in front of the door. We then see a closeup of the raptors starting to dig under the door, there's no sign of the light guard. We then cut back to a wider shot of the door, and the light wire guard falls off again. Eventually it shows a closeup of the light wire guard AGAIN falling off. (01:30:10)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Sarah is hanging from the roof surrounded by 'raptors, the position of the roof tiles she's holding on to change between shots. (01:33:35)
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene in the shed towards the end, when Sarah and Kelly are at the top, you can see the harnesses that are keeping them safe. (01:35:35)
Other mistake: When the velociraptor jumps for Ian, it hits an electric panel and shorts it out (the red lights go off). In the aerial shot of Kelly's acrobatics the panel lights are on and the raptor is gone. When it jumps from the ground to the catwalk the lights are off again. Then on again when Ian and Kelly run from the shed. (01:36:00 - 01:36:48)
Continuity mistake: At the San-Diego docks, the guy says it's the 'wee small hours of the morning', yet when he goes inside the Harbour Master's control room, the clock on the wall says 9:25. (01:38:20)
Plot hole: How did the men on the ship get killed? The bridge was intact and the T-Rex was still inside the cargo hold. [A raptor was meant to escape from the boat when it pulled in to the harbour, but they cut the scene from the film and now that bit doesn't appear to make any sense.] (01:40:55)
Suggested correction: The idea of raptors being on the boat is a myth (likely spawned from a similar thing happening in the first book's ending). Though it's very poorly communicated and leaves many unanswered questions (the captain's hand the least of which), the dead hand holding the cargo hold controls implies that the T-Rex somehow got free, killed the crew, then was either lured or willingly returned to the hold where a dying worker closed the doors again.
