Factual error: Paspaley Pearls not established as a company in Darwin until 1946, yet one of the buildings bears a sign for this company.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Nullah appears to Lady Sarah in her bedroom, sometimes he is wearing his necklace, and sometimes he is not. (00:24:05)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Nullah's mother is telling Mr. Fletcher lies about the cattle, you can see her leaning against the porch post in two different positions, in three quick shots - one with her arm low on the post, and the next shot with her arm higher up on the post. (00:29:15)
Continuity mistake: As Mr. Fletcher is riding up on horseback to greet Lady Ashley, you can see him riding up next to a parked, red truck, that has the front end pointed away from the house. Keep an eye on that truck, because it will have the front end pointing towards the house, as Fletcher gets closer to Lady Ashley. (00:27:50)
Factual error: When the first part of the "Wizard of Oz" is being shown at the outdoor theater, it appears black and white. Actually, the first part of the original version of the film was in sepia tone (brown and white).
Continuity mistake: As they drove to Faraway Downs the steering wheel was on the right side. After Fletcher was fired and drove off, the steering wheel was suddenly on the left side.
Suggested correction: Not the same truck they arrived in.
Other mistake: When Nullah rides the horse out of the billabong at the beginning and is galloping towards the ranch, you can see dust rising from the ground in front of him from another horse and rider.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the stampede, Drover places a black hat on Sarah's head. During the stampede, her hat is now light brown. (00:59:35)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Hugh Jackman is roping the horse, the lasso is in his right hand, then in his left hand, then back in his right hand.
Continuity mistake: As Lady Ashley and Ramsden are walking in to the horse stables, while discussing the sale of Faraway Downs, you can see the background of a servant, along with a serving cart, and one closed door that would lead further in to the stables; as the two walk away from that scene, take notice that the background has changed - it now has a wheelbarrow full of hay, the door is open, and the servant and cart have disappeared.
Revealing mistake: When Lady Ashley tells Drover not to bother returning, tracks made by very wide tires are visible in the road as he rides off. Vehicles of that era had very skinny tires, so the tracks are likely from the filmmaking crew.
Other mistake: When Nullah rides the murdered Boss's horse to the station ranchhouse, he arrives at the hitching post with one rein already tied to the post. (00:03:45)
Plot hole: At the beginning of the movie, Lady Sarah Ashley's husband is killed before Nullah rides to Faraway Downs. There he sees Sarah go into the home and find her dead husband. This would mean that somebody had to recover his body and transport it to Faraway Downs faster than Nullah, who went straight there following the murder.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Flynn is on the ground and the cattle are stampeding towards him, you can see him raise his chest up off of the ground to look back at the stampede; immediately, the next shot, you see Flynn looking back at the stampede with his face and chest more closer to the ground.
