Other mistake: Near the very end of the movie, Bush has a college baseball game on between the Texas Longhorns and the Miami Hurricanes. We see a Miami player rounding third and scoring at home plate. But the TV announcer says, "and Texas takes a 2-1 lead." With Miami doing the scoring, Texas can't be taking the lead at that moment.
Continuity mistake: When W. is praying with Rev. Hudd, W. has a big streak of blood down the bridge of his nose that disappears between shots. (00:53:20)
Factual error: In the scene where., we see George Bush's speech writers in the final stage of writing the speech, we see a shot of a man working on a computer. The operating system seen on the computer screen is Mac OSX 10.4 Tiger which was released in 2005. The year this scene happened in as noted at the beginning of the scene is 2003.
Factual error: Towards the end of the movie, George W. Bush is seen walking through the Cross Hall of The White House towards what is in reality The East Room. Behind him we see a large staircase with a plant next to it on the other end of the hall. These should not be there: that is where the door to the State Dining Room really is. In the next shot we see W. coming upstairs from a winding staircase that doesn't exist.
Continuity mistake: While George W. Bush is walking along with his cabinet in Texas, on his ranch, Dick Cheney goes from walking in back of the group to being up front quickly and mysteriously. (00:25:00 - 00:26:20)
Continuity mistake: George Bush is using the restroom; he rips off a piece of toilet paper, and there is a piece of toilet paper still hanging down off the roll; in the very next shot that piece is no longer to be seen. (00:58:20)
Continuity mistake: When George is introduced with Laura, a lady tells someone grilling what to cook. Bush puts a finger in his ear because it's loud. The shot flips to the other side and his hands are down.
Continuity mistake: During George W. Bush's dream, we see W walk in to his oval office to see his father sitting at his son's desk. Take note that the lighter next to the cigar box is positioned close to the box; however, when the shot is filmed from behind George Sr's. back the lighter's position is moved further away; then, it returns to its original position when we first saw it for the rest of the scene. Continuity mistake: In the scene where George Bush Jr. is about to place a video tape in to the VCR for his father to watch, you can see George Sr. putting on his glasses through a reflection in the TV screen; the shot then goes to seeing George Sr. putting on his glasses again. (00:55:25)
Continuity mistake: While George W. Bush is eating his sandwich, while talking to Dick Cheney, at lunch, George's sandwich gets bigger when it should have been getting smaller. Also, the portion of cheese puffs increases on his plate, too. (00:19:10 - 00:20:25)
Factual error: While discussing the evidences of Iraq's possession of weapons of mass destruction and its linkage to 9/11, Dick Cheney talks about an encounter of Mohamed Atta with a chief of Iraqi Intelligence in Czechoslovakia. According to the Czech Security Information Service, this encounter took place on April 8th, 2001 in Prague, Czech Republic. This is more than eight years after Czechoslovakia ceased to exist.
