Other mistake: At the start of the film, a rope is lowered to a milkman from a prison cell window. However, you can see there are not any windows in the wall where the milkman pulls up.
Continuity mistake: When the Jeep at the head of the army convoy starts off again, after being stopped at the temporary traffic lights set up by the crooks, the external shots show the Jeep passing the traffic lights. But the next shots from inside the Jeep show them passing the traffic lights a second time.
Continuity mistake: The train that the three crooks are on, when they drop the bag of jewels off, isn't the same train they got on at the station.
Revealing mistake: When the prison van drives through the tunnel, then stops and reverses so the crooks can set up the road works, it's supposed to be driven by Wilfrid Hyde White. But it's obviously being driven by someone else, as the driver looks nothing like him.
Factual error: Lenny says that he has seen the film "danger within" which was released in 1959 but two way stretch was released in 1960 and in this film Lenny has been in prison for the last three years so he couldn't have seen danger within.
Continuity mistake: Wilbur the homing pigeon is shown close up three times each time it is a different bird.
Visible crew/equipment: When the army convoy is about to set off you can see the camera light and crew members reflected in the side of the security van.
Factual error: The prison in this film, Huntleigh prison, can't be very secure as the hinges are on the inside of the cell doors and the front gate opens directly into the exercise yard.
