Trivia: Jason's surname "Tripitikas" is a wry reference to the Chinese epic "Journey of the West", on which the film is partially based. In it, the Monkey King is freed from a stone prison by the monk Tripitika.

Continuity mistake: When Jet Li and Jackie Chan are fighting in the temple, both land on their backs. Upon getting up, it is clear that Jet's back is dirty. The very next frame, however, shows him from the back and it is clear his outfit is completely clean.

Golden Sparrow: She does not think The Drunken Immortal needed his life saved.
