Other mistake: In the beginning of the movie when Mike Myers starts to play 9 to 5, the title comes on the screen. Beneath it it says: (R) MXVIII Paramount Pictures. It's actually supposed to say MMVIII as the movie was made in the year 2008 and not in year 1018. (00:04:40)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the film, when Pitka is using the voice-over machine, it is a black machine. In the bar scene however, the machine is a pale-ish orange color. The orange-ish machine is also used in the ending scene before the song.
Continuity mistake: After Roanoke wins the game and the camera angle immediately changes to an overhead shot, the elephants and red carpet are gone.
Continuity mistake: When Guru Pitka pokes his head through the ceiling, the position of the tile rotates on his neck between shots. (Whatever the circumstances were for the tile to change position between shots, nonetheless it IS still a continuity error within the film.)
Continuity mistake: In the "bar room brawl" scene where Roanoke and Guru Pitka are fighting the others in the bar, there's a scene in which there are two girls kicking Pitka's butt. In the first part of this, the girl on the left has a small braid on either side of her face but the rest is hanging down and quite frizzed. The girl on the right has hers braided neatly in two braids on either side of her head. The camera shifts to Roanoke and others and then back to Pitka, and the girls have now switched places.
Continuity mistake: When he has his bobble head and is sitting down, there is a bruise on the upper arm that comes and goes in between different angles.
Factual error: When Roanoke reenters the Stanley Cup game 7 toward the end of the game, the face-off takes place at center ice. That only happens at the start of each period, or after a goal is scored.
Continuity mistake: In the first game, before Darren goes on the ice, Guru Pitka hits him on the head with the flowers. The sprig loses most of the blossoms after the hit, but in the next shot the sprig is whole again.
Factual error: When Darren was kicked out of the first game, behind the referee that suspended Darren, there was another one with orange stripes. The one referee that was grabbing Darren to bring him off the ice also had orange stripes. All three had stripes. In a real game, only two of the referees have stripes.
Factual error: There is an ostrich that releases an egg on to his plate, however the bird is a male as females are brown and this one was not.
