Continuity mistake: Once Cross comes back home from the intro, he finds relatives there. Next to the mother there's another person (Cross' daughter, Janelle). She conveniently disappears between shots though, so Cross can sit next to May. She would have had to quickly backflip over the couch or slide on the floor to exit stage off-camera. (00:08:40)

Continuity mistake: When Cross is calming May down and promising he'll deal with the disappearance of Naomi himself, Morgan Freeman's hands keep changing position on her face between shots. (00:09:00)

Continuity mistake: Cross is tired of waiting and pushes through the doors marked Main Offices. He advances through the open space; a policeman on the left of the frame is passing a file to a colleague sitting at her desk. Close-up of Morgan Freeman holding his badge, and the same policeman is repeating the gesture, arriving and handing over the file. (00:12:25)

Other mistake: In the Italian dub, Dr. McTiernan talks to the two Chinese women with both of them speaking the language, making the dialogue quite paradoxical (since the point of the scene is that the older woman speaks only Chinese and the other has to act as translator). Not just that, but she introduces herself as Dr. "McTiernenson", for the one and only time in the movie. (00:21:10)

Continuity mistake: Watching the two guys spar in the gym, Kate in one shot (when the red shirt guy is finishing his punch combo and backs off to load the kick) is leaning on the railing, arms crossed. In every other shot she is standing, hand on her hip. (00:22:00)

Continuity mistake: Talking with the feds about the case, Cross says "This guy's a collector." Kyle Craig in the background goes from holding a pad to a folder, and then closes it multiple times when it was closed to begin with. (00:24:00)

Continuity mistake: When Naomi's boyfriend tosses the basketball against another player to provoke them, the guy on the bleachers on the right changes position between shots. (00:30:40)

Continuity mistake: Kate approaches the door of her cell and begins shouting; her hands by the slit change position between shots, multiple times. (00:39:15)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Cross is talking to Kate who woke up from her drug-induced coma. He mentions his niece and she says "I talked to her." In this part of the scene, Cross' hand goes on and off her shoulder depending on the camera angle. (00:53:00)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: During the press conference, when Kate is giving her speech the scene is lit very differently depending on the camera angle (the shadow cast by the microphones is a good indication of that). (00:54:30)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Cross and Kate are in the woods, and discussing the bicoastal nature of the serial killer. Ashley Judd's hair changes position in front of her shoulders several times between shots. (01:00:45)

Other mistake: The ambulance that picks up Jeremy Piven is from Santa Barbara, CA when the movie takes place in North Carolina. (01:13:23)

Audio problem: Hotel room scene; after assessing the state of a shirtless Cross' ribs, Kate says "At least now the FBI know who they are looking for." Most of the sentence is pronounced off-screen, but it begins with Ashley Judd with her mouth shut. (01:14:35)

Continuity mistake: When Kate is making airline reservations for her and Alex back to North Carolina, and Alex tells her to hang the phone up, Kate's hand disappears from the receiver between shots. (01:15:15)

Revealing mistake: In the locker of the Gentleman Caller there are multiple newspaper clippings. When Cross looks at the one talking about his niece, it just does not talk about his niece. The clipping is on camera long enough to be able to read without freeze frame, and it's talking about things like police brutality and apartheid (actual word used), entirely unrelated to the fake headline and picture caption. (01:18:00)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Cross is at the police station, enraged by the premature arrest. Kyle says "Alex, not all", and hands him a folder. The folder is turned in opposite directions between shots. (01:20:45)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Cross enters the interrogation room, with Dr. Sachs detained. He's carrying a cup of coffee and a file. He puts the coffee on the table, and in the next shot you can see already on the table the file that he never put down and is in fact still in his possession in the shot that follows. (01:21:05)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Cross and the lewd red herring doctor talk about the imaginary Futokan bottled water, Morgan Freeman has his left hand on his right wrist when he is shot from the side, but he has his hands joined when the camera is behind him. (01:21:50)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Cross shows the erotic picture to Dr. Wick Sachs, holding the evidence with his fingers positioned much differently in the reverse shot. The plastic evidence bag is also folded while it was straight in the first view. (01:23:10)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: The Gentleman Caller interrupts Naomi's execution (of the musical kind) saying that Bach should be "crisp." Naomi seen from behind puts the violin down, but she's still holding it in the close-up. (01:28:30)

Dianne Wainford: What sort of policeman are you?
Alex Cross: I'm a forensic psychologist. It's a fancy way of saying I'm a guy who walks into a room like that and determines the hows and whys.
