Continuity mistake: After Dr. Alan Grant gets done talking with Ellie, he backs up in his car. As he pulls away, we can see that the interior dome/map light is blaring down on his hands that are on the steering wheel. After the instant angle change, however, the light is now turned off. It cannot be argued that the light turned off automatically during that split second angle change because when the doors of a car are already closed, and the car is started -- the light turns off instantly (if not already off) So this being the case, the light was manually turned in the first shot, and then it was off in the next. (00:06:35)
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning as Alan is giving his speech, the MC woman is standing, then sitting, then she is standing again but then sits down. (00:08:05)
Continuity mistake: In the diner, when Mr. Kirby is bribing Dr. Grant, after he says "We'd love to make a contribution to your research here" Dr. Grant lowers his glass to the table. In the following shot he does it again. (00:15:10)
Continuity mistake: When the front of the plane is ripped off, there are 2 people sat in the pilot and co pilot seat. As the camera changes one of them has disappeared from the seat and is further back in the plane. (00:24:50)
Continuity mistake: When Dr. Grant gets rescued by the kid and they are sitting in the water tank (truck) eating candy bars, they show the kid eating a "Crunch" bar with no wrapper, just in the tin foil. In the next shot, you see him eating the same candy bar, but the "Crunch" wrapper is now on. Then, in the third shot, it cuts back to the kid, and the wrapper is gone, and you only see tin foil again. When Dr. Grant asks the kid about Ian Malcolm's book, the wrapper is intact. (00:46:40)
Continuity mistake: When Sam Neill opens the bag with the Raptor eggs in it, you can see the part of the bag that separates the eggs is completely intact, but in the next shot, that piece of the bag is all ripped and damaged. (01:19:55)
Continuity mistake: When Dr. Grant dives in the water after they're attacked, he has his watch on his right hand before he dives in, but in the rest of the shots of Sam Neill he has his watch on his left hand.
Continuity mistake: If you look at the scene where Grant and company are on the boat during the day, and pass by the field of dinosaurs you will notice that when Eric says "Dr. Grant" they both stand up to look at the dinosaurs, but when the camera shows the boat going along the bank and the dinosaurs, Eric and Grant are sitting and then they stand up.
Continuity mistake: In the fight scene between the Spinosaurus and the Tyrannosaurus, the Tyrannosaurus bites into the Spinosaur's neck, leaving it red in blood. Yet when the two dinosaurs are thrashing at each other, the blood and wounds are gone. Then when the Spinosaurus breaks the Tyrannosaurus' neck, the blood and wounds are back again.
Continuity mistake: During the parasailing scenes at the start of the film we see the boat sailing through the fog and then the ropes being pulled to simulate the attack on the boat. As the boat comes out of the fog we see that its canopy roof has collapsed. The camera switches back to the parasailers and then back to the boat at a lower angle and the canopy is back up, albeit a bit battered.
Continuity mistake: When the group watches the video on Amanda's camcorder it shows footage at the beach and then it shows Ben and Eric para sailing. In this part the words said over the camcorder are noticeably different from the first scene in the movie where the footage was supposedly filmed. This is even more noticeable if you view it with the subtitles on.
Continuity mistake: When Nash is crawling across the ground after the Spino dropped him, you can obviously hear the Spino taking several steps to get him. Yet, after Nash is eaten, the Spino is right in front of the plane when he roars at the rest of the people, as if he ate Nash as soon as he dropped him.
Continuity mistake: When the Spinosaurus bites the cockpit of the plane it hits the floor and breaks. But later when they go back to the plane it is now in perfect condition, and it is when they roll over inside the plane.
Continuity mistake: When the Kirbys find the video camera, the footage shows the boat they were being pulled by when it came out of the fog after the attack, but the camera was not used during that scene. It was attached to a strap and dangling at Ben's side.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Dr. Grant and the others walk in on the feeding T-Rex, his mouth is slathered in blood. But when the T-Rex is battling the Spinosaurus, its mouth is clean.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when Dr. Grant uses his cell phone to call Ellie and talks to her son it is night where he calls from and morning (judging the Barney reference on TV and that she is kissing her husband off to work) Costa Rica is on the same longitude as Florida and Michigan on the globe. Even if she were living in Maine (which she probably was not) the time from sun up in each location is less than an hour.
Continuity mistake: When Dr. Grant is holding the camera bag out the window in order to drop the eggs and get rid of them, the strap for the bag is hanging loosely. The shot changes to behind him and now the strap is bundled up into the fist holding the bag.
Continuity mistake: At the start of the film we see two people parasailing. In the close up shots we see that the young boy is lower than the adult, and that the adult is holding the chute's handles above his head. In all of the wide shots, specifically the ones from the side, we see that the boy and adult are level at head hight (boy is harnessed up higher) and that the adult now has the handles at his shoulders.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the black guy borrowed the cellphone from Mr. Kirby, he had a shotgun on his back, but when he fell to the ground, he had a rifle.
Continuity mistake: When the boat is about to crash into the rocks, in the first shot from the parachute the boat is quite a distance away. But then in the next shot it's very close, just a wave away. But when it cuts back, the boat is back to being further away.
Answer: While the movie doesn't explain this, it most certainly wasn't a dinosaur (since a carnivorous dinosaur would eat him). However, in Jurassic Park Adventures: Survivor, he dies from internal injuries due to the rough "landing".
