Continuity mistake: Xerxes cuts his hand badly when he grabs the sword about to be brought down on Esther. He uses the same hand to touch Esther seconds later with no blood dropping or around in sight. (01:44:30)

Answer: No, Xerxes does not kiss her forehead because you see shortly after that, she is still asleep then wakes up. If he had really kissed her she would have felt it and woken up right then.
