Anastasia mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the Dowager Empress is walking towards the door and says the cinnamon smell is from an oil, her reflection in the mirror exactly matches her movements, including when she turns, when it should show a mirror image. Note the blue sash is on the same side in both. A quick reflection of Anastasia's head just before when she says "I just want to know who I am" has the same problem. After they sit the reflections appears to be right. (01:09:40)

Continuity mistake: In the mirror scene with Anastasia's grandma when they're singing, the mirrors show the hair band Anastasia's wearing disappears. The lower part of her earring is missing in the reflection shortly afterwards. (01:08:20)

Continuity mistake: When Anastasia is singing after leaving the orphanage, there's a part when you see Pooka playing with these squirrels and in the next shot they disappear.

Continuity mistake: In the song "Paris Holds the Key to Your Heart," at the beginning of the song, when they sing "Down what we call la rue," the girl selling flowers stands next to Anastasia. In the next shot, she stands a little bit behind her.

Neptopia

Factual error: In the beginning of the film, the Dowager Empress Marie states that the year is 1916 and that they are celebrating the 300th anniversary of their family's rule. The 300th anniversary actually took place in 1913. (00:01:05)

Anastasia: Oh no, not me... nope! No... nobody ever told me I had to prove I was the grand duchess.
Dimitri: Look, I.
Anastasia: Show up, yes. Look nice, fine. But lie?
Dimitri: You don't know if it's a lie. What if it's true?

Trivia: Inspired by the story of Anna Anderson (died 1984) who claimed to be Archduchess Anastasia, which would have made her the only surviving daughter of the Czar and Czarina of Russia. Only DNA tests years after her death proved she was not Anastasia, but an imposter which European nobility had long suspected.

Question: Anastasia basically lost most of her memories from hitting her head, as well as the possible trauma of what happened to her the night her family was killed. Could someone really lose most of their memories that way?

Answer: Amnesia exists, but it is a temporary condition. It does not last for the long-term and people usually regain their memory in a day or two, sometimes up to a week. Extreme cases can last longer, but not in the way it is depicted in movies. Some people may lose memories due to severe brain damage from a traumatic injury, but that is permanent.
