Question: Why isn't Oscorp mentioned in Spider-Man 3? Did the company go bankrupt?
Answer: Because it's not involved in the plot. Harry doesn't seem actively involved in Oscorp anymore, so there's no reason for it to be brought up.
Question: Why does Peter seem to be so vacuous in this movie compared to the last two? He cheated on Mary Jane at the Key to the City ceremony, and basically ignored Dr. Connors about the dangers of the symbiote.
Answer: In the beginning of the film, he's become too prideful and egotistical now that Spider-Man is "accepted" and his personal life is in order. So he's not acting quite like himself. Then, when the Symbiote latches onto him, he becomes worse due to it's drug-like influence. He eventually learns humility and goes back to being himself by the end of the film.
Answer: The symbiote itself has a detrimental effect on Peter and the way he behaves.
Question: Why did Eddie smile when he received the Symbiote? I mean he seemed terrified at first but when he was on the ground he smiled.
Answer: The symbiote is shown to have an influence over its host, demonstrated by the change in Peter's personality after he bonded with it. Eddie, who was already bitter and angry by this point, could feel the symbiote taking over him, and while initially terrified, he quickly began to understand, accept and enjoy the change occurring within himself.
Question: Did Harry ever find out of the truth about how his father died? If so, then how?
Answer: Yes, it's shown in the film. The butler tells him, and it's why Harry decides to help Spider Man at the end of the film. In fact, this is one of the plot points that caused such derision of the film because it was so ridiculous that the butler would have waiting so long to tell Harry what really happened to his father.
Question: I still don't understand why Flint Marko shot Uncle Ben. Can someone please explain it in full detail?
Answer: He didn't mean to. If you listen at the end of the movie Flint says "Your Uncle Ben told me to put the gun down and go home, then my partner came and the gun went off." So the gun went off by accident (either due to being surprised by his partner or maybe being knocked by him). Flint had no intent on killing him after what Uncle Ben said.
Question: Emma Marko told Flint that he was not allowed near Penny but why?
Answer: Because he is a criminal and she doesn't want him to be a bad influence on her.
Question: This might be a dumb question and more character choice or ignorance, but when Mary Jane is fired from the play she asks "One critic?" to which she gets the response of "No. All of them." Why would she just read or hear of one review? Even if they all said the same thing she would have probably read more than one to look for even the slightest chance of a positive review.
Answer: She most likely knows how bad she was, has gotten poor reviews from previous plays, and couldn't bring herself to read or hear more than one terrible review this time. Nobody wants to read/hear negative things about themselves, and she may be hoping someone will tell her that there is at least one positive review about her.
Question: Kind of a silly question but nonetheless; If Spider-Man were real, would he really be praised like in the film, or would the police do everything to stop him from being a vigilante? Would there be fines? Jailtime? Just very curious.
Answer: Normally, he'd be considered a vigilante, but if the police and government somehow verified him as a super hero, they may allow him to act alongside the law (sort of like Batman) but not outside it. If super villains existed as well, I think they would most definitely allow him to work alongside the law. However, if Spider-man killed anyone, they'd issue a warrant for his arrest.
Question: When Stan Lee makes his appearance and talks to Peter Parker he says to him that "One man can make the difference" The same thing the founder of Knight Industries (Knight himself) says to the young Michael Knight in the first episode of Knight Rider, before he passes away. Is it kind of a tribute to the series?
Answer: Doubtful. This line (or one very similar to it), has been used in many movies and TV shows, and the theme of one person making a difference has been used countless times.
Question: How did Venom get Spider-Man's powers?
Answer: Spider-Man's powers are part of his DNA, so since the symbiote bonded with him, it was able to absorb Spidey's DNA into itself.
Question: How did Peter get the idea that Harry despised his father, and was an embarrassment to him?
Answer: He's simply saying that to hurt Harry, knowing that Harry has a complex about his father. He didn't get the idea anywhere - he's just saying it to be hurtful.
This quote is also a reference to the comics where Norman considered Harry weak.
Question: What did Harry ask Mary Jane to do when he kidnapped her just before she asked Peter out to meet her on the bridge? Did Harry asked Mary Jane to break up with Peter or else he will kill/harm Peter?
Answer: In a nutshell, yes. Harry wants revenge against Peter/Spider-Man because he incorrectly believes he killed Harry's father. He wants to make Peter suffer, and he knows making Mary Jane break up with him will be devastating.
Question: Why in the world does Peter try to help Harry after their first fight? Was he hoping to defeat Harry and try to tell him what happened to his father afterwards? Even more, why is it Harry, of all people, to whom Peter goes for help with taking on Sandman and Venom after he gladly fought Harry for the second time? If, as Harry tells him on revealing himself, Peter knew he would eventually have to fight Harry, why didn't he jump ahead and find a new friend after Harry found him out? It doesn't make any sense.
Answer: Peter doesn't know anyone else with superpowers or gadgets that he could call on to help with this fight. He'd tried to tell Harry earlier about his father and knows that Harry's just acting out of misguided rage and guilt and still hopes to set things right between them.
Question: Does Bernard, Harry's butler, know Peter Parker is Spider-Man? His speech to Harry in the Goblin's lair seems to indicate that he does.
Answer: It's unclear whether he knows or not. What IS clear is that he knows Norman was the Green Goblin.
Question: Was Norman ever really ashamed of Harry (aside from small things like Harry not having a job in the first movie), or was this just the Green Goblin personality trying to manipulate Harry?
Answer: Norman Osborn had a split personality. Norman loved his son, but felt Harry didn't really live up to his full potential. He wasn't ashamed of him, just a little disappointed in him. The Green Goblin was ashamed of Harry. He thought he was weak. So Bad Peter was lying to Harry just to hurt him, whereas the "ghost" of Norman Osborn (Green Goblin persona) was speaking truthfully.
Question: At the jazz club, after Peter dances with Gwen, Gwen is upset and asks "That was all for her?" when she realizes that Peter was only dancing with her to bother Mary Jane. However, isn't Gwen still Eddie Brock's girlfriend?
Answer: Not really. They only went out for coffee once. In Eddie's mind however, Gwen is his girlfriend.
Question: Could it be considered attempted murder on both Peter and Harry's parts when they both took a turn throwing the pumpkin bomb at each other until it exploded near Harry's face after their fight? Those pumpkin bombs are designed to kill, and Peter knew that when he threw it back at him, although I'm not sure how the explosion didn't kill Harry.
Answer: Well, Harry was obviously trying to kill Peter, so yes, that was attempted murder. Peter, at that point, is heavily influenced by the symbiote, causing him to not feel remorse or empathy towards Harry. It angered him that Harry would throw the bomb at him while his back was turned to him and therefore did commit attempted murder by throwing it back at him. Harry survived because he was spiked up on his father's muscle enhancers. Although he should be deaf and blind after.
Question: Why did Peter decide to abandon the black suit? I mean, what was the reason for Peter to free himself from the symbiote suit?
Answer: Eddie's suit is an alien symbiote that forms a telepathic bond with its host, much like it did with Spider-Man earlier in the film; it can remove itself from parts of the host at will (such as the face) or change form to take on the appearance of normal clothing, such as a jacket. Harry's mask has a hinge at the top that allows him to raise and lower it as necessary.
