Visible crew/equipment: When the anxious Benjamin takes Elaine on their first date (against Mrs. Robinson's wishes), he's driving his convertible Alfa Romeo fast and a bit recklessly on the crowded freeway. This brief nighttime scene is one continuous "backseat" shot from behind Ben and Elaine, looking out of the car's front windscreen. As the lighting shifts erratically, the distinct shadow of the camera and audio rigs with vertical cables repeatedly moves left and right across the entire shot for the duration of the scene. Directed by: Mike Nichols
Starring: Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft, William Daniels, Katharine Ross
Continuity mistake: Mrs. Robinson picks up the phone to call the police on Benjamin who has broken into her house but if you look closely she never dials the phone. (01:35:10)
Suggested correction: Since we never see the police come in, we're not for sure she actually called them as Mrs. Robinson is known to lie and manipulate. All we hear are tires screeching and as we see no police pursuing him, it's unlikely.
Buck Henry: Are you here for an affair, sir?
Trivia: After Elaine screams and landlord Norman Fell comes to Benjamin's door, one of the boarding-house kids asks, "Should I get the cops?" Look closely: That kid is Richard Dreyfus.
