Suggested correction: There was an unseen passage of time. This is evident from the fact that Olive now has curlers in her hair, a face mask on, and is also in her pyjamas. Arthur has also had enough time to remove his work uniform and put his pyjama bottoms on. This would have been more than enough time for both Stan and his mum to come up to bed themselves and get changed.
