Continuity mistake: When Don Knotts is in the old Simmons mansion, he falls down a chute of some kind. If you watch closely you will see the stunt person looks nothing like Don Knotts. It is a younger man with very straight hair.

Continuity mistake: When Don Knotts (Luther) is in the Simmons' mansion, his flashlight moves when the light from the flashlight does not. One time, while leaving a room, his flashlight points away from him, but the light actually shines on him.

Continuity mistake: When Mrs. Maxwell, the head of the "Occult Society", is arguing with her husband Milo, watch her dish of tapioca. In the first shot, a profile shot, the dish is full. When the shot switches to a head-on shot, the dish is nearly empty. In the next profile shot, the dish is once again full and she's just then taking her first bite.

Continuity mistake: The sandwich the man eats while Luther and Alma are talking in the diner switches hands between shots.

Continuity mistake: At Luther and Alma's wedding, the distance between them changes. From the front view they are close together, but the view from the back of the wedding chapel (it is a small room) shows the pair further apart. This happens for several shot changes.

Continuity mistake: After falling down the coal chute and landing in the coal bin, Luther's flashlight is on a chair, sharing the seat with three large pieces of coal. When Luther grabs his flashlight from the chair, two of the three pieces of coal have disappeared.

Continuity mistake: The broom Kelsey holds as he relates the story of the Simmons' house to Luther changes position from his hand to the crook of his shoulder then back to his hand.

Continuity mistake: While Luther nervously gives his speech at the luncheon, his arms are spread apart on the lectern. When one of the crowd shouts, "atta boy, Luther!", his arms are then instantly together.

Continuity mistake: When Luther falls into the elevator, Mr. Beckett has his arms folded, shielding his upper body, but the next shot shows Beckett holding on to the elevator's wooden rail.

Continuity mistake: While Luther is informing Mr. Beckett about the murder at the police station, two local men sitting in the background get up out of their chairs twice.

Continuity mistake: When Heggs and Beckett are introduced to Mr. Simmons' attorney in the hotel room, the lawyer clasps his hands high on the left side of his body, but the next shot of Simmons and the lawyer shows the lawyer's hands clasped in his lap.

Continuity mistake: After Luther slides down the coal chute and into the coal bin, his left arm is outstretched, but the next shot of Luther shows his left arm immediately beside him.

Continuity mistake: When Ollie tells Luther he hopes he fries, Luther's attorney is facing away from them, but the next shot shows the attorney facing them.

Continuity mistake: As Luther investigates the organ in the loft, a large piece of cobweb on the left side of his chest and arm moves several times from up to down as the scene cuts.

Continuity mistake: As Kelsey reads the newspaper article in front of Mr. Beckett, the newspaper Kelsey holds instantly moves from being up to being lower when the scene cuts from a closeup of the duo to a longer shot of them.

Continuity mistake: When Mr. Beckett enters the newspaper office, he is facing the door, but the shot from inside shows Beckett's head facing out of the door.

Continuity mistake: In the courtroom scene as Luther sits down next to his lawyer, the lawyer's right arm is stretched out, but the next shot his arm is by his side and he is sitting and facing straight ahead.

Continuity mistake: Kelsey holds the newspaper about the Simmons' murder with both hands after Beckett gives it to him, but the next quick shot has Kelsey holding the newspaper with only his right hand.

Continuity mistake: Milo Maxwell enters the bank and there is a counter below a large photograph of a bank officer/founder visible through the entrance. Instant inside shot of Milo entering the bank and now there is a lady in a peach-colored dress and yellow hat at the counter.
