Continuity mistake: When Ricky is being inspected for metal by the two prison guards, he opens his shirt so to reveal his chest. His right nipple (or left from the viewer's POV) is exposed, but in a close-up shot of his chest, the nipple is suddenly covered by his shirt. (00:05:28)
Continuity mistake: When the two prison guards discover that there is metal inside Ricky's chest, they begin pushing him over to the X-ray machine. The guard holding a baton is shown pushing the bottom of the baton against Ricky's upper back, but in the next shot, he's suddenly pressing the entirety of the baton against Ricky's back. (00:05:39)
Continuity mistake: When the elderly inmate falls over after being hit with a wooden train, his glasses break off and land on the floor beside him. A few seconds later, when the bald inmate trips him over, the glasses have suddenly rotated 90°. (00:07:53)
Continuity mistake: When the elderly inmate has a wooden train smashed against his head, he is shown positioned in front of the bathroom sink. He then begins to stand up and charges towards the other inmates, and he is suddenly positioned much further back than where he was a few seconds earlier. (00:07:53)
Continuity mistake: When the Captain slashes the elderly inmate's face with an object, the elderly inmate falls over and his left hand is covered in blood. Seconds later, just after the guard walks out of the room after asking what happened, a large amount of the blood on the elderly inmate's hand has disappeared. (00:08:17)
Continuity mistake: At the start of the scene where the two prison guards are telling the elderly inmate that his probation has been rejected, in the establishing shot, he is shown leaning his head forwards sightly. When he begins speaking in the following shot, he is suddenly standing upright. (00:11:20)
Continuity mistake: When the prison guard pushes over the elderly inmate after telling him they rejected his probation, he lands on the ground and his glasses fall off. The glasses are shown right next to him, but two shots after, the glasses are suddenly further away. (00:11:35)
Continuity mistake: When the big guy is approaching Ricky in the showers, in the POV shot of the big guy, he is shown approaching Ricky from directly behind Ricky. When he throws a punch at Ricky, he is suddenly standing to Ricky's side. (00:15:25)
Continuity mistake: Uncle Ghost throws a headstone at Ricky which he catches by punching two holes straight through the middle of and letting the headstone rest on his arms while he keeps his arms raised. In the first shot, both of Ricky's arms are level with each other, but in the next shot, his left arm is suddenly higher up than the right arm. (00:21:45)
Continuity mistake: When the assistant warden is punching Ricky in the face, there is initially no blood shown on his face in the profile shot. When Ricky's face is shown in a close-up, there is blood on his chin, in his mouth and running down his mouth that would have been seen in the profile shot. (00:25:22)
Continuity mistake: Whilst the assistant warden has Ricky's hand trapped in his hook hand, there is a shot where the assistant warden slams his right hand into his hook hand to make it more painful for Ricky. In the next shot of Ricky, both of his eyes are shown wide open. When the shot cuts, his left eye is suddenly squinting and is closed more than the right eye. (00:25:37)
Continuity mistake: When Ricky breaks the assistant warden's desk after getting stabbed through the hand, in the shot of the desk collapsing, strips of tape can be seen on both the left and right hand side of the table. A couple of shots later, just after dodging a bullet, Ricky begins walking over to the assistant warden, and the strip of tape on the left hand side of the table has disappeared. (00:26:28)
Continuity mistake: Just after Ricky has broken the assistant warden's desk and dodged a bullet fired at him, there is a shot of Ricky wiping off a small amount of blood on his face, tasting it, then clenches his fists and advances on the assistant warden. Here we can see a small droplet of blood on his stomach. But in the next shot, when he stops charging toward in the assistant warden, the blood on his stomach has vanished. (00:27:00)
Continuity mistake: When Ricky begins walking out of the assistant warden's office after first meeting him, he holds up a photo of his girlfriend and tells him to keep his nose out of his affairs. Some blood can be seen on the back of the photo. In the very next scene, Ricky is shown sitting in his cell looking at the photo, with no blood on the back of it. (00:27:24)
Continuity mistake: When the bald inmate is being followed by the other inmates, he begins to walk up a flight of stairs. In the first shot, no-one else is shown on the staircase, but in the next shot, an inmate has suddenly appeared to push him over the banister. (00:30:16)
Continuity mistake: When the bald inmate is pushed over the staircase and cornered by the other inmates, he says "Hold it! What's this about" and is pointing with his right hand finger before moving his hand towards the ground. The camera changes angles and his right hand is suddenly reaching out again. (00:30:24)
Continuity mistake: Just after Hai has stopped Kuang from killing the bald inmate, Hai leans on the staircase behind him. His elbow is shown leaning on the step at first, but in the next shot, his elbow is suddenly leaning along the pole of the banister. (00:31:40)
Continuity mistake: When Hai stabs Kuang against the side of his face, blood is shown slowly poring out of the wound on Kuang's face. The camera then cuts to focus on Hai, and the blood coming out of Kuang's wound is suddenly spurting much quicker. (00:32:32)
Continuity mistake: When the assistant warden throws his glass at the window, a couple of the blinds get covered in juice. In the next shot, much more of the blinds are suddenly covered in juice. (00:33:28)
Continuity mistake: When the assistant warden begins shaking the mints out of his eye, in the close-up shot of his hand, there are about four mints in his hand. But in the next shot, there are suddenly many more mints in his hand. (00:33:59)
