Sheriff Wydell is killed by Tiny while trying to strangle Baby. Tiny frees Spaulding and Otis from their house before it burns to the ground. Tiny stays in the house and presumably dies in the fire. Captain Spaulding, Baby, and Otis are escaping on a highway and are shot in a charge on a police barricade.

Trivia: Following his death, Rob Zombie revealed that Tony Todd had auditioned for the role of Sheriff Wydell, with the casting crew apparently not knowing that Zombie had already given the role to William Forsythe.
