Vidocq (2001)

Vidocq is alive after all. He saw an esape route from the reflection of the mask. The Alchemist is Etienne Boisset, following Vidocq's footsteps to cover his tracks. In the final confrontation Vidocq's partner gets killed, the Alchemist is chased into a room of mirrors (which apparently hurt him, reflecting his mask unto himself). Vidocq releases the souls of the Alchemist's victims by reflecting a piece of a mirror into his mask, and then stabs him with a huge shard of a mirror, and lunges him out of a window into the river. After the funeral of the partner we see a view from a small room, where the mask reflects it's golden shine unto the walls...
