Continuity mistake: Veta and her daughter are getting out the tablecloth. The daughter mentions Harvey's name and Veta shushes her. Cut back to the table being visible. In seconds, the tablecloth goes from barely unfolded to neatly spread out and straight.

Continuity mistake: When Elwood P. Dowd and Harvey are entering the bar, Elwood is holding a hat by the top, with his left hand. When they are in the bar, Elwood is now carrying the hat by rim.

Continuity mistake: When Wilson comes to the house looking for Elwood, as he says to Myrtle Mae Simmons "Now where's he?" his cigar is in his mouth. However, in the next shot, he is now holding the cigar in his left hand, placing it into his mouth as he asks "Where did you put him?"

Continuity mistake: When Elwood P. Dowd is talking with Mrs. Hazel Chumley at the sanitarium, he is holding a flower in his left hand which is resting on the car. His right hand is down by his side, yet, in the next shot, both hands are now holding the flower.

Continuity mistake: When Dr. Chumley tells Dr. Sanderson that he is still employed at the sanitarium, Elwood P. Dowd is holding his bathrobe with his right arm. Instantly, in the next shot, the robe is now being held by Elwood's left arm.

Continuity mistake: When Miss Kelly, Dr. Sanderson and Elwood P. Dowd are at the bar, Mr. Cracker, the barkeeper stands next to Elwood with his right hand on his hip. Looking closely, Mr. Cracker's sweater is under his right hand, yet, in the next shot, the sweater is now pulled back behind the hand.

Continuity mistake: When Elwood is going through the sanitarium gate, the gatekeeper, Herman Schimmelplusser says "I constructed this myself" putting his hands behind his back, but, in the next shot his hands are down by his side.

Continuity mistake: When Elwood P. Dowd returns to the party, he stops to talk with Mrs. Ethel Chauvenet. As she says "Elwood, bless your heart," he is carrying a hat with it lying down on its top, yet in the next shot, the hat is now on its side.

Continuity mistake: At the bar, when Elwood says "Six feet and three and a half inches. Now let's stick with the facts," his right hand is up by his face, with his index finger pointing up, but, in the next shot, his right hand is now down on his lap.

Continuity mistake: When Elwood P. Dowd and Harvey are entering the bar, Elwood is holding a hat by the top, with his left hand. When they are in the bar, Elwood is now carrying the hat by rim.
