Continuity mistake: When John is driving to work and he hears Anna on the radio, he swerves to avoid a car. From inside the car you can see that there are no cars in the rear window, yet when the shot changes to an outside shot, there are 3 cars. (00:33:35)
Continuity mistake: When John first meets Raymond, Raymond sticks his business card in the black slot and it is big enough that it hangs over the slot. When the camera pans away from the card to go back to their conversation, it disappears. At the end of the scene it appears again, because they end on a close-up of the card. (00:15:45)
Continuity mistake: When Michael Keaton gives the blonde woman medication to help her sleep, as she reclines on the bed her legs are turned to her left, but in the next shot, she is speaking to him while lying on her right side. (01:10:00)
Continuity mistake: Also when John is driving to work to review the tapes, the camera is following an SUV through the intersection which implies they are following his vehicle. That vehicle is a Honda CRV, but when he swerves to miss the oncoming car, the vehicle switches back to a Ford Explorer.
Continuity mistake: When Keaton is watching Anna take his son to school he is standing in the driveway. During the first shot his cell phone is on a clip on the side of his pants. When the shot changes to Anna in the car, then back to Keaton, his cell phone has moved to the front from the side. (00:05:40)
Continuity mistake: During the car crash scene, the sparking transformer starts to buckle and come away from the telephone pole, but in the all overhead shots of the pole, the transformer is back in its original position.
Continuity mistake: After Jonathan saves the baby from the car he goes to the funeral. In the funeral he starts talking to the baby's father and while they are talking you see a bald man with glasses pass by and glance at the baby and then in another scene you see the same bald guy pass again. (00:59:30)
Continuity mistake: When we see Anna as a 'ghost,' she is wearing a flowing, lightly colored garment, NOT what she was wearing when she died. But when we see John's ghost, he's wearing the clothes he died in, as you can assume most of the others were as they seemed to be wearing casual garments. The killer (as you could see with his last attempted victim) did not change his victims' clothing before killing them. Why then, was Anna wearing what seemed to be a night gown?
Answer: The cop thought he was a suspect, Rivers knows this because when the officer asks him if he is going home whilst at the hospital, he replies with "I'm not leaving town, if that's what you're thinking."
