Continuity mistake: The first time that Cross spots Jezzie Flanigan, he is holding the Soneji picture in front of him, chest-height. Reverse shot and he is holding the position, but with the picture belly-high. (00:19:45)
Continuity mistake: After the scene with the senator's wife sticking with Cross after the attempt to undermine him, Megan wakes up. Between the actual shot of her and the camera feed the sheets are touching the ground in a different way, and quite evidently the shadows cast in the scene are completely different. (00:24:00)
Continuity mistake: Megan takes Soneji's cup with her left hand, but drinks in the reverse shot with her right. (00:26:05)
Continuity mistake: When they are in the classroom and the lady is on Megan's computer and says to Alex to come there and look, he is in front of the teacher's desk but when it pans back to Alex it shows him walking around the back of the teacher's desk and down the far side of the room. Why not just walk down the main isle where he was at? (00:31:30)
Character mistake: The computer technician sitting at Megan's desk is "scoping" (her software is in "scoping mode"!) the GIFs the kids have been using to exchange information. Telling Cross what the name means, she says it stands for "Graphics Interchange Formats", while it is Graphics Interchange Format, no S. She also talks about "billions of 0s and 1s" making each image, which would mean billions of bits, which would mean the kids are casually exchanging 100 MB gifs, which are not so likely nowadays, and even less in 2001. Other mistake: The software the FBI agent is using to decrypt the "Stego-encrypted GIFs" says "ANOMALLIES FOUND; TRUE", with 2 Ls, and closes the report with a pretty worrisome "EXRTANEOUS POGRAM FOUND; TRUE." (00:32:30)
Continuity mistake: Cross and Jezzie are en route for Soneji's office but get stopped by a backhanded comment by agent Ben Devine. During the sequence, there are 3 people talking behind the two investigators; they are either on the left or the right side of the corridor, depending on the camera angle. They just want to be in frame. (00:32:45)
Continuity mistake: Alex Cross is in front of a computer screen, checking out images of the class to spot the missing picture. From behind, Morgan Freeman is in pose with his finger on his temple, then lowers his hand and turns around. In the next shot, he's still holding his hand high as he is turning. (00:34:50)
Continuity mistake: Cross found out that the picture missing is Charles Lindbergh's (like the blackboard says). He says then "Our Mr. Soneji has a sense of humor." The IT agent by him has her arms folded, hands visible at the elbows. Close-up on Morgan Freeman, and her hands are not on display anymore. (00:35:50)
Revealing mistake: At Mercusio's place, Cross is checking out a variety of material the maniac collected on Cross himself. Which include newspaper clippings but they're all the same one, by "Lisa Francescato", same article repeated, just omitting the first short paragraph the second time. (00:39:20)
Continuity mistake: At Mercusio's place, one agent says he "was wearing prosthetic appliances." The reaction shot on Morgan Freeman shows him with a background that does not match the view of the room. (00:40:10)
Character mistake: Cross knows (for some reason) by memory the last words of the Lindbergh kid kidnapper (and killer) and that Soneji/Mercusio referenced in a book he finds in amazingly oblique ways. He calls him "Richard Bruno Hauptmann", while his name was actually Bruno Richard Hauptmann. (00:42:30)
Continuity mistake: Alex Cross is picking up the wet jumper found in the channel after the murder of the fisherman. He holds the neck of the garment straight and tense, but in the close-up it's loose and in a curve. (00:49:15)
Continuity mistake: After Freeman and the Main Detective girl are at the beach looking at the body of the man who was shot in the water trying to save the little girl, Freeman says "let's go back to the city". On their way back in the car, of the three times the camera is on him, he only has his seat belt on twice. (00:50:00 - 00:51:00)
Continuity mistake: In front of the embassy, the driver's window jumps several times from being quite open, to closed (during the U turn) to less open (during the shootout). (00:58:00)
Other mistake: In the sequence in front of the embassy when Jezzie runs towards the police car as it escapes, in the background Morgan Freeman's stand-in 'surrender' to the Russians way before the real Morgan Freeman does it in a close-up. (00:58:50)
Continuity mistake: Dimitri calls Jezzie from the gates of the embassy, and she leaves Cross and the guy talking in Russian to go to him. During the transition, the soldier moving across the gates walks through the same steps he already walked, and the bodyguard in a trenchcoat is in a different position. (00:59:25)
Continuity mistake: Dimitri hands Jezzie the knife between the gate bars; he is holding it in two different ways in the two shots. (00:59:35)
Factual error: Outside of the house of Senator Rose are police cars of the Barcroft County Police. The police for Lake Barcroft are the Fairfax County police. (01:01:15)
Continuity mistake: Mercusio gets back to his boat after the embassy fiasco. His shirt is wet in the middle, down to the pockets on his chest, both sides. He grabs his gun and goes to Megan's cell, but his shirt, in the space of few steps, dried considerably up on his right side. (01:01:25)
