Fallen

Detective John Hobbes (Denzel Washington) attends the execution of Edgar Reese (Elias Koteas), the serial killer he caught. Hobbes disregards a cryptic message Reese shares shortly before he dies. Not long afterward, murders are committed that are eerily linked to those of the late Mr. Reese - and that coincidentally frame Hobbes as a suspect. An investigation leads Hobbes to the doorstep of Gretta Milano (Embeth Davidtz), a late cop's daughter who leads him to believe innocent people are being "touched" by evil.

Factual error: In the scene where Hobbes is talking to Reese in his cell, Reese talks to him in a foreign language. It's stated on at least two occasions that Reese is speaking Dutch. He isn't - he's speaking German.

Suggested correction: It's Dutch. "Wie de bal kaatst." Just what Reese said. "What goes around..."

John Hobbes: There are moments which mark your life. Moments when you realise nothing will ever be the same and time is divided into two parts, before this, and after this... Sometimes you can feel such a moment coming. That's the test, or so I tell myself. I tell myself that at times like that, strong people keep moving forward anyway, no matter what they're going to find.
