Monkeybone

Stu Miley(Brendan Fraizer) has a freak accident the night he plans to propose to his girlfriend. He finds himself in a place called "Downtown". Downtown is where people in comas wait in limbo to see if they will wake up or die. While there Stu meets Monkeybone, a character he's created.

Stu and Monkeybone are invited to a party thrown by Hypnos, the god of sleep. Hypnos tells Stu that his life support is going to be pulled and he'll die. His only hope is to sneak into the land of Death and steal an exit pass.

Stu and Monkeybone succeed, but at the last second Monkeybone steals the pass and leaves. Hypnos explains that in Downtown nightmares are their onlysource of entertainment. Monkeybone has been sent back in Stu's body to create more.

Monkeybone creates havoc in Stu's body, and unleashes his plan to create nightmares. Stu is imprisoned by Death, but is granted an hour in another body to fix things after he expresses his love for Julie.

Stu confronts Monkeybone and they end up in a fight on a balloon over the city. Both plummet to the ground and find themselves back in "Downtown".

Shantelle

Trivia: The way the god of sleep's goat legs were achieved usually consisted of hiding the actor's legs behind or below whatever the character was sitting on. However, when he had to walk, the actor wore a pair of green screen pants with the goat legs going down to his knee. There was padding from the bottom of his knee to the top of his foot so he wouldn't make any sound he wasn't supposed to. Look behind him when he walks in a crowd and you'll see that nobody gets less than two feet behind him. This is most noticable in the slumber party scene and when monkeybone steals Stu's exit pass.
