Continuity mistake: When Napoleon is waiting while Rico makes a sale, he checks his watch to see how much time he has before the dance. The first time he checks it, the date on the watch indicates Thursday July 17. When he checks it again a few minutes later, it shows Monday July 21.
Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Plot summary
Directed by: Jared Hess
Starring: Diedrich Bader, Jon Heder, Tina Majorino, Jon Gries, Efren Ramirez, Aaron Ruell
Napoleon is a high school geek that is always picked on, and doesn't have many friends, except for Pedro, who wants to run for student council, and Deb, who is sort of going out with Pedro. Living with Napoleon is Kip, who is just as geeky, but older. When Napoleon's grandmother is injured, his uncle Rico stays to look after him, along with Kip. Kip's girlfriend, LaFawnduh comes to visit too. Uncle Rico offers to sell some "breast enhancers" to Deb, lying that Napoleon suggested the idea. Deb calls Napoleon, saying that he should try some himself for being so heartless.
Pedro: Do you think people will vote for me?
Napoleon Dynamite: Heck yes! I'd vote for you.
Pedro: Like what are my skills?
Napoleon Dynamite: Well, you have a sweet bike. And you're really good at hooking up with chicks. Plus you're like the only guy at school who has a mustache.
Trivia: After Uncle Rico throws the steak at Napoleon when he's riding his bike, Rico sits back down on the porch and you can see him discreetly spit something into his hand and put it down. According to the DVD commentary, this was the bite of steak he was eating, because Jon Gries, who played Uncle Rico, didn't eat red meat. Between shots he spat out all the many bites of steak his character had to eat.
