Continuity mistake: When Richie shoots Bobby on the sidewalk, after he spits on him, he walks to the road to get into the red sports car. Bobby's wife then runs over and gets on her knees to attend to Bobby, there is no red sports car on the road in the background, but in the next shot it shows Richie getting into the car and taking off from the position the car was originally waiting.

Continuity mistake: When Bobby gets shot on the wet pavement in front of the store his wife runs up and drops to her knees. However, her knees are already wet as if she had already fallen on wet pavement.

Plot hole: When Frank gets the phone call that Bobby has been shot, all that is said is that Bobby has been shot on the street in Italian. They never said Richie shot him.

Revealing mistake: When Richie shoots the random woman, as soon as he grabs her head and shoots her, it is clear that it's a dummy.

Continuity mistake: When Gino is looking for Richie at the bar, he walks behind the bar harassing the bartender. After he has pushed the bartender over, Gino turns around and walks back towards him. Gino goes to walk past the bartender by walking in front of him, but straight after in the next shot Gino walks behind the bartender instead of in front.

Continuity mistake: Gino's friend Bobby gets shot on the street in front of his wife and kids. He gets riddled with bullet holes and his white shirt is pretty much soaked in blood. When the cops arrive and Gino goes over to look at the body, Bobby's white shirt just has a neat splatter of blood in the center of the shirt.

Continuity mistake: After Richie shoots the woman in the road rage incident the guys abandon the red car at the spot where they shot her. However, when they show the guys running away in the long shot the red car is parked politely at the curb.

Revealing mistake: In the final showdown with Ritchie you can see there's 2 stunt doubles for William Forsythe in different shots of the fight - the stunt man is a skinny frame guy then a puffy fat guy fat in another take.

Plot hole: Geno is supposed to be a Narcotics Detective, but he's pretty much worked homicide the entire film by avenging his partner's death and discovering Ritchie's lover dead, killed by him. He would have had no authorization what so ever to go outside his unit investigating any other crimes other than Narcotics even if it was his own partner gunned down by a drugged maniac.

Continuity mistake: When Bobby gets shot, the blood spatter at that time on this coat is very messy. Another shot of him a few seconds later and the spatter is not nearly so messy or extensive.

Continuity mistake: When Gino shows Sammy his badge as a "trophy" for anyone who can come and get him, Gino is holding the badge with his right hand and his gun is in his left. In the next shot, Gino is now holding the badge with his left hand and he is holding a bar towel in his right.

Factual error: Towards the end of the movie Ritchie visits Chas the Chair. Chas tells one of his guys to wire a police scanner in the GNX parked in the garage. As we see the car once Richie's in it, it's very easily noticeable that it's not a Buick GNX, it's the regular Buick Grand National. The badges are on the fenders where the fender louvers should be on a GNX, the hood has the 3.8 SFI Turbo, among other differences. Trust me, I've owned one and have driven many.

Continuity mistake: During the final showdown with Gino and Richie towards the end of the film, Gino grabs the roller from Richie and he is holding it in his right hand when he pushes Richie out of the window. When the scene cuts to Gino flexing his right arm, the roller is missing, and when we see the two fighting again, the roller is back in Gino's right hand.

Continuity mistake: Before Richie comes out of the bathroom to confront Gino, there is a cup in front of the lamp on the table. After a quick cut to Gino, we return to Richie coming out of the bathroom and the cup has disappeared.

Continuity mistake: When Gino shoots Richie with the lead mobster's gun towards the end of the film, the amount of blood on Richie's shirt changes between shots.

Revealing mistake: When Gino puts a cleaver through the hand of one of Richie's men during the fight at the butcher's shop, you can see the man is wearing a fake hand.

Revealing mistake: When Gino hits Richie with the roller, the padding on Richie's back can be seen underneath his shirt.

Revealing mistake: Before the showdown with Richie, Gino grabs Tattoo's arm, pulls him through the railing and he slams face-first into a brick wall. When Tattoo hits the brick wall, it moves.

Continuity mistake: During the showdown between Gino and Richie towards the end of the film, you can see there is no blood on Richie's right-hand side of his face, but when Gino forces him into the kitchen, blood has suddenly appeared.

Continuity mistake: Near the end, Gino hauls Tattoo out of a window. His head hits the wall on his right side, but seconds later he has a large wound on the left side of his forehead.

Vinnie Madano: Don't go pushing my patrons around, ya prick, ya.
Det. Gino Felino: Prick? Look around you over here. Is this the setting for profanity?
Vinnie Madano: Hey, fuck you.
