The Gathering (2003)
Ending / spoiler
Directed by: Brian Gilbert
Starring: Christina Ricci, Ioan Gruffudd, Stephen Dillane, Kerry Fox
Cassie (Christina Ricci) is a member of The Gathering (and so is Dan). She forgot that she was one of them because of the car accident. As Argyle is about to kill Michael, Cassie makes an attempt to save him and Argyle shoots her. She doesn't die because she's part of The Gathering and pretty much immortal. Michael is saved by his father right in the nick of time and he kills Argyle by dumping water when a nearby cable goes loose thus electrocuting Argyle. Since Cassie helped Michael and died trying to save him, instead of witnessing the almost tragic event like the other members of The Gathering, she's free of the curse. She visits Michael and tells her that she's free and that everything will be okay. The sculpture that represents her in the archaelogical dig turns to dust.

The Bishop: If people become obsessed with evils that might occur, they neglect the present good that they should do.
Question: Why did Argyle want to kill Michael? I can understand wanting to kill those who harmed him but Michael was an innocent boy.
Answer: While Argyle shows a strange affinity for Michael, his primary goal is still revenge on the entire town. Innocent or not, Michael is connected to those who tortured him.
How could Michael have anything to do with those men that he killed? He's just a kid.
How is he connected?
