Trivia: Even though "Nosferatu" is the title character, he has only nine minutes of screen time.

Trivia: After Bram Stoker's widow Florence successfully sued the film's producers for plagiarism, the court ordered that all copies of the film be destroyed. About five prints survived, however. All of today's versions of "Nosferatu" have been reproduced from those prints.

Trivia: Nosferatu was initially banned in Sweden because of its excessive horror. The ban was eventually lifted in 1972.

Trivia: The actor who plays Count Orlock is named in the opening credits as Max Schreck. "Schreck" is German for "fright."

Revealing mistake: When Hutter is writing his letter to Ellen in Count Orlok's castle, the paper that he is meant to be writing on is blank throughout the scene.
