Audio problem: During the girls' follow-up discussion after Tracy has sex with Ravi, Evie laughs and says, "What? We didn't go over that one." However, her lips aren't moving when she speaks the second sentence; the second part was obviously dubbed in later.
Continuity mistake: When Tracy first goes to meet Evie, she gets on the bus with no purse. She even leaves her house without one. When she sees Evie in the store, she has a purse on her shoulder.
Tracy: He was crippled, but only his body was cracked. It's not simple, nor is it an easy matter to explain. "Let's just leave it at that," she says and closes the holy book of lies. She covers her eyes, denying to herself what she thought happened.
Trivia: When Tracy is spinning on the playground equipment in the final scene, she is wearing the clothes that Evie wore when they went to the neighbor lifeguard Luke's house. This may be a call back to her missing Evie after she left or a representation of how Tracy's style changed over time. Also, when Tracy wakes up next to Mel in the end she looks disappointed. And I have come to think that she is upset because she wanted to wake up next to Evie again. (00:49:51 - 01:34:51)
Question: I wanted to clarify the question I submitted about why Tracy starts starving herself. I know that many girls starve for different reasons, but I thought she was being influenced by Evie and wanted to copy her. Why did she starve herself if Evie wasn't? Evie normally ate the food that Tracy's mom cooked.
Answer: Tracy is more than likely just trying to look as skinny as Evie, even though Tracy is clearly thinner than she is. Also, it could be a result from drugs or angst.

Answer: I think what started it was her tongue piercing. She didn't want to eat cause it would hurt and her mom would notice.
I think it's a combination of the tongue piercing and Tracy's new rebellious attitude. She wants to be "difficult" by refusing to eat what her mom cooks. Evie, meanwhile, is trying to impress Tracy's family, because she wants to live there for as long as possible. So she eats whatever food Tracy's mom cooks.
