Continuity mistake: When Harry has his tongue stuck to the chairlift, there is frost on the pole when he licks it. Later, when he asks the kids for a cup of warm water, there is none. Then when Mary removes his tongue, the frost is back. (01:14:35)
Revealing mistake: During the tongue scene, when Mary is pulling Harry's tongue off the ski lift, you can see Harry's real tongue right under the fake stretchy one. (01:16:50)
Suggested correction: If you look really carefully you will see that this is a part of his lower lip folded a little bit.
Continuity mistake: When Harry and Mary go out on the date to the ski resort, when they get into a snowball fight, the camera shows Harry, and it's snowing, but when they show Mary (who is supposed to be right beside him) it is not snowing. It keeps doing that, when it shows Harry it's snowing, and Mary it is not (or vice versa). (01:17:50)
Continuity mistake: When Harry and Mary go out on the date to the ski resort, they get into a snowball fight. When Harry is shoving her face in the snow, the first time it shows Mary she is facing one way, but when they show her again she is facing a different way. In addition to this before the camera cuts to a different angle on Harry you can see Mary's nose is bleeding immediately after she stands up. The camera then cuts to a different angle and it isn't. Continuity mistake: When Lloyd asks if the bartender knows Mary, he originally grabs the bartender with the left hand. But in the next shot he lets go of him with his right hand. (01:19:18)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Lloyd is making drinks for him and Harry, there is a half full bottle with something that looks like whisky in it. Then the cameras changes angle to Harry for 2 seconds, and then again back to Lloyd, but suddenly there isn't half as much "whisky" in the bottle as before. It is impossible that Lloyd could have poured so much "whisky" into the glasses in only 2 seconds. (01:19:40)
Visible crew/equipment: On the DVD when Harry is in the bathroom (from the ex-lax) as he sits on the toilet if you look on the floor you can clearly see the dolly track for the camera. (01:20:45)
Continuity mistake: When Lloyd tackles Mary on the hotel stairs, she is wearing black pantyhose. By the time they get to the hotel room, she has miraculously changed into grey tights. (01:28:45)
Continuity mistake: When Nicholas Andre shoots Harry twice in the chest, the gun is empty after the two shots. The camera then moves to Harry getting up and shooting back. When the camera returns to Nicholas, the gun is not empty. (01:32:25)
Revealing mistake: The Aspen lift operators are wearing Copper Mountain uniforms. Copper Mountain is in Colorado, but it is over two hours away from Aspen.
Visible crew/equipment: When Harry and Lloyd are leaving Providence, there is a hand moving the curtain behind Harry.
Revealing mistake: When Harry is lying on the bed at the end - you can see he's not wearing a bullet proof vest as the extra bulk they cause is not visible on his torso. However once he's shot, the bulk is visible under his shirt for the remainder of the scene.
Continuity mistake: After Mary removes Harry's tongue from the pole her ski out fit is blue when before that it was black.
Continuity mistake: When Harry and Lloyd are leaving Providence, in the first shot of the highway we see them driving on Route 146. In the next shot showing the Highway, they are driving on Route 95 South. There is no way they can be driving on both highways at the same time, and, if they could, they would be driving in opposite directions at the same time.
Continuity mistake: When Harry and Lloyd go to the preservation dinner, Nicholas is standing by the front door. A few minutes later, he is up on the stage starting the presentation and introducing Mr. Swanson. Then instantly, he is back by the front door talking to his comrade. There is no way Nicholas could have done what he did in so little time - he doesn't look out of breath -- and without being seen.
Revealing mistake: The Asian man at the airport terminal is struggling very hard not to laugh at Jim Carrey's antics, as seen from his reflection in the glass.
Revealing mistake: When Harry is talking to the lady at the gas station, and his legs catch fire, you can see the burn gel on his pants.
Other mistake: In the brief scene in which Nicholas Andre and J.P. Shay are talking about the killing of the owl at the preservation society ball, if you look very closely out the very bottom of the window, at the very end of the short scene (right after Andre says, "Their guys aren't just anybody, they're good"), you can catch a brief glimpse of part of the box containing the victim who is trying to escape (this box was completely excluded from the film).
Continuity mistake: Towards the beginning of the movie at Lloyd and Harry's apartment during the scene when Harry is behind the couch yelling at Lloyd about going to Aspen you can see an empty beer bottle, when Harry walks around the Couch again the beer bottle has moved.
Other mistake: When Lloyd gear shifts the limousine at the airport he only moves it down one notch, which would be reverse. The limo still moves forward.
