Continuity mistake: The guys are discussing whether to take Steve's job or not. When Daric says "Let's do it", Ben's hand stars on the cue at a much lower point than it had reached in the previous shot. (01:11:15)
Continuity mistake: When Stephanie's boyfriend at the court tells Ben "It's going to break the cycle", he is holding the basketball close to his body, but as the angle changes, he's holding it on his upward palm. (01:09:25)
Continuity mistake: When in Vegas the guys bring a "Rachel" in the room, Ben is looking at his book, no papers in hand, but as she leans against the bed he's suddenly holding some. (01:04:50)
Continuity mistake: After the confrontation with Stephanie's boyfriend, there's a scene opened by Ben in voiceover talking about 'scams'. In the long shot we see Virgil greet the guys in the blue car while holding a skateboard. Closer angle, no skate. (00:43:00)
Continuity mistake: The situation at the party escalates quickly. Darin knocks the jock down with his gun while a rabid Virgil steps in to kick him on the ground. The gun swaps hands between shots. (00:38:00)
Other mistake: Daric asks Ben to do "by tomorrow" a cheat sheet and get a 50 for it. Ben angrily crumples the sheet. At leas a day passes by, but there' a scene follows and Ben returns that same cheat sheet, neatly folded. He could have course have just copied it back on a pristine sheet, but he certainly didn't deliver it on the day he was asked to, but Daric makes no comment about it. (00:23:10)
Continuity mistake: Virgil wins a portable CD player thanks to the candy bar contest; the first view of the results, featuring his picture, simply shows his name and score followed by Ben and other two people. A close-up of the same printed sheet inserts also the word "Runners up." (00:45:35)
Continuity mistake: When Stephanie talks to Ben by the fence about him taking her to the ball, her hair changes position over her right shoulder between shots. (00:41:20)
Continuity mistake: When 'Gabe', the employee of the convenience store holds the patently false ID that Ahn gave him, his index finger is at the very top of the card, on the corner, and it is in a different position in the reverse shot. (00:35:40)
Continuity mistake: Ben finally is asked to get on the court to play. The girl with braids cheers him wildly in a close-up, and the girl behind her is holding her yellow sign with her left hand. Cut, and she is using the right hand. (00:21:55)
Character mistake: When Ben and Stephanie are studying, she repeats the stages of mitosis (which should be prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, with minor differences in the way textbooks divide them) out order; anaphase, metaphase, interphase, prophase. She is supposed to be an A student and Ben, who is also smart and reading from the notes and textbook, says she is right. (00:18:55)
Continuity mistake: Ben is happy because he made the team. He sees Stephanie on the sidewalk, reading. He approaches her; she says "Oh hey, Ben!" closing the book twice and in different ways. (00:13:55)
Other mistake: The 4 kids just snuck into a party. Some jocks begin making fun of Ben, calling him "the chinese Jordan." Daric walking off to check on their puking friend bumps into one of them on purpose. During this sequence, notice that one of the guys is holding a paper cup completely empty just for show, and in the reverse shot it even flips suddenly. (00:37:25)
