Continuity mistake: The Black Stallion was played by a horse with white markings; it's occasionally possible to see them under the black dye, especially during the desert scenes.
The Black Stallion (1979)
1 continuity mistake
Directed by: Carroll Ballard
Starring: Mickey Rooney, Teri Garr, Clarence Muse, Kelly Reno
Factual error: The toy horse on Alec's shelf is a 64 Black Foundation Stallion, available from Breyer between 1977-1987. But the film is set over thirty years earlier.
Trivia: The photograph in the barn of Henry Dailey (Mickey Rooney) as a young jockey is actually a still shot of Rooney from the 1944 film, "National Velvet," starring Elizabeth Taylor. Rooney played jockey Mi Taylor.

Answer: Alec collected rain water whenever he could.
