Les Miserables

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Fantine is dying, she asks Jean Valjean to give a necklace to Cosette. There is a closeup of Fantine's head and neck and Valjean's hands enter the shot and begin to remove the necklace. A moment later she begins to cough and there is a cut to a two-shot of the pair from a few feet away. Valjean's hands are nowhere near her neck in the second shot.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film, when Valjean wonders why Javert isn't taking him into custody, there is nothing between the two while they're talking. When the shot cuts, Javert suddenly has his pistol raised. (02:05:55)

Continuity mistake: When Fantine collapses in the jail, her left arm is extended to nearly her knee, and her right arm is draped over her abdomen, just under her breasts. She is also lying in such a way that her right shoulder is only a few inches off the ground. When the shot changes, she is resting entirely on her left shoulder, and her left hand is suddenly near her face, with her right hand resting on her left wrist. (00:35:34)

Phaneron

Continuity mistake: When Fantine is dying she coughs up blood and it goes on her face. The shot then cuts to Valjean. But when the shot cuts back to Fantine, no blood is visible. (00:56:25)

Question: I haven't read the novel, so I don't know if it's addressed there, but after Javert interrogates whom he later finds out to be Cosette in her own home, he goes back to find the house empty, and Cosette and Valjean are now living in another house. Is this an additional house that Valjean already owned as a safe house, or did he just rent it?

Answer: I'd say it was a house he rented.
