Continuity mistake: After the trooper gets shot with the arrow, the cannibal puts his arrows in the front seat. When he gets to the house they are on his back.

Factual error: When the fearless trio get into the watchtower, the windows are absolutely spotless. It is very unrealistic that they would be that clean.

Plot hole: When they were in the cabin looking around, they all saw personal belongings, sets of car keys, the barbed wire, people's teeth, body parts, yet they all decide to leave after Carly sees the body in the tub.

Continuity mistake: When Jeremy Sisto is separated from his girlfriend as they're walking through the woods, he calls her name several times. His collar goes from turned up to turned down to back up again when she jumps out at him.

Jini Zlatniski

Visible crew/equipment: Right when Chris is opening the refrigerator in the cabin, if you look closely behind him you can see a man walk up behind him, it's very brief but it must have been camera crew or somebody on set.

Continuity mistake: When the trooper is talking to Chris he has a wedding band on. When he's lying dead, it's gone.

Continuity mistake: Chris hooks himself to the troopers' truck. But when it gets to the house he's nowhere to be seen.

Continuity mistake: When Chris and Jessie are hiding behind the waterfall at night, Chris has his trouser leg rolled up (you can see the blood on his knee) and Jessie ties a white bandage round Chris's left knee, but when they wake up in the morning the bandage is gone. There is no sign of the bandage under his trousers. There is also no sign of blood from the bullet wound, even though earlier when Jessie was wrapping his knee with the bandage you could see that his knee was covered in blood, yet none of the blood soaked through his trousers. You can also see that there is no longer an entry wound or any blood on the back of his trouser leg. Later, when the cop gets an arrow in the eye, Chris climbs into the police car and the blood stain has reappeared on the back of his left knee.

Revealing mistake: When the cannibal throws Francine on the floor, you can see her pulse in her neck.

Continuity mistake: In the beginning, the female rock climber falls with her back toward the ground. But she lands on her stomach.

Continuity mistake: After Chris gets into the policeman's car, the mountain man shoots a single arrow that goes through the windshield and strikes the seat, but there are two arrows in the seat.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, when the male hiker gets killed, the blood drips onto the girl's face. Some blood drips by her left eye, and she wipes it off, with a slight smear remaining. The drop then reappears unsmeared, then is smeared again in another shot.

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Chris is hiding under the bed with Eliza Dushku and the mountain men bring in the corpse of the red-haired girl who was nearly decapitated by the barbed wire and dump it on the floor, the 'corpse' is still breathing.

Evan: Okay, you guys go, and we'll just stay here, Francine and.
Scott: And get high.
Evan: Yeah... so?

Question: What is the significance of that guy at the gas station, as he closes the door on the cannibals' truck, is he one of the inbred family or what?

Answer: The chosen answer is incorrect. In part 2, the old man turns out to be one of them. He tells Dale, you killed my boy! The 3 cannibals are his sons.

Answer: Both answers are correct. In the first movie, it isn't clear what the old man's relationship to them is, but is implied they leave him alone in exchange for leading people to them. In the second movie, its established that he is their father. However, if you're going by the first movie alone, he does appear to be afraid of them, which is why he shuts the garage door when he sees their truck approaching.

Answer: He is frightened of them, which is why he hides when they go by. He allows unwary travelers to encounter the crazies as a means of protecting himself. So, they leave him alone in return. But, apparently, it doesn't do much to dissuade his fear.

Phixius

Answer: This is hard to understand. In the first movie he is scared of them. In the second movie and its sequels and prequels he is helping them and caring for them.
