Continuity mistake: In the scene where Bruce makes Evan Baxter spout gibberish on the live newscast, the water glass at Evan's right elbow moves between shots. Sometimes it is closer to his elbow, sometimes farther to Evan's right. The glass also changes position in reference to the graphic projected behind Evan, although it appears that the graphic moves to the right also. (00:52:20)

Continuity mistake: When God pages Bruce, Bruce says, "Hello 776-2323", only the number on the pager says 555-0123. Originally, the number on the pager was 776-2323. However, this caused a few problems (people with that number got calls), so it was changed, but without the appropriate voiceover. This is only the case on some DVDs - it's been changed completely on others. (00:22:45)

Continuity mistake: After Bruce gets hit by the truck on the highway he is talking to God. The shot keeps switching from behind Bruce to facing him - in the shots behind his head a lock of hair is seen hanging over his forehead, though shots facing him show no hair. (01:23:50)

Continuity mistake: Grace and her sister are at the Asian spa getting massages. The Asian woman walking on Grace's back steps all the way up to the base of her neck. The camera cuts to a different angle and the woman's feet are back down to the lower/middle portion of Grace's back. (00:50:05)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Bruce is about to crash into the pole with his car, in the shot that was taken of the car's hood, you can see that there is a bench that is behind the pole. But when it goes to the shot where the sign truck drives by, the bench is several yards from the pole. (00:21:10)

Continuity mistake: In the diner scene, the ketchup and mustard bottles behind Bruce move (left to right) almost every shot.

Continuity mistake: There is a spoon in the cup holding the coffee that Bruce ordered. In the first shot, is it pointing to Bruce's right. However in the second shot, it is now pointing to Bruce's Left. (00:34:50)

Continuity mistake: When Bruce is fired the security throw him out and a box with his stuff after him. The camera cuts to a close-up of his head next to a photograph of Walter Cronkite. Then there is a wider shot of him slowly getting up, and his stuff is scattered around much more and the photograph is gone. (00:18:20)

Continuity mistake: When Bruce is out to get his job back, while talking to the Channel 5 guy, a white car drives by and two police officers walk down the road. In the next shot they walk a little behind their earlier position.

Continuity mistake: When Bruce hit the lamppost the smoke from his car went upwards. When the truck goes past there is only a little bit of smoke and it is much lower. (00:21:35)

Other mistake: Early in the film, Jim Carrey is watching TV during a sports segment. He is watching Channel 7, the station he works for. This clip they showed was of actual WKBW sports director John Murphy. The clip they showed was taken directly from a real WKBW newscast, with the authentic news set, and graphics. However, when they show a clip of Ch. 7 News later, there are completely different graphics, and a completely different news set, both made for the movie.
