Holes

Trivia: The Attorney General in the final scenes with the cowboy hat and round sunglasses is the stunt coordinator. The director gave him a small part to say thank you for his contribution to the film.

Trivia: The first time you see Sam selling his onions, a nearly bald man comes up to him (Mr. Collingwood) and Sam advises him to use onion cream on his head so hair will grow. Mr. Collingwood is Louis Sachar, the author of the book Holes.

Trivia: When the cast and crew were filming Holes, they filmed it in an actual desert where the temperature reached to 50C(120F). They only filmed 20 minutes at a time so they wouldn't suffer from the extreme heat.

Trivia: The onions that Stanley and Zero eat towards the end of the film are actually apples with an edible covering.

Trivia: Shia Lebouf's name means "thank God for beef.".

Trivia: When Kate Barlow shoots the sheriff, the prisoner in the first jail cell is Andy Davis's son.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Stanley and Zero are digging to find the chest toward the end of the movie, the background behind them is just a dirt wall. In a following shot upon discovering the box, there are stairs that lead to the hole. In the next shot, these stairs are gone again and it's just the hole again. (01:38:05)

Question: When Mr. Sir goes to the warden's house with Stanley to tell her he stole the sunflower seeds, he puts something green in his mouth, what is it?

Answer: He's eating a candy 'fruit' wedge. I remember him holding them when Stanley is first shown into his tent so I assume that he confiscated them from Stanley.
