Factual error: In the movie Dian touches hands with the silverback Digit. In reality Digit was a young male and not a silverback. The gorilla she touched hands with was not Digit but one called Peanuts.

Gorillas in the Mist: The Story of Dian Fossey is a drama based upon the true story about the famed Primatologist who goes to Rwanda to study the gorillas she discovered while stopping at nothing to protect them, often to escalating violence between herself and the poachers. At times hostile but passionate, Dian nevertheless will engross watchers with her passion and fearless outlook along with the rich cinematography and spellbinding scenes of her interactions with the great apes. A overall good film with a very sad end.
Sembagare: They think you are a witch.
Dian Fossey: They wouldn't be the first.
Trivia: Sigourney won the Golden Globe Award for best actress for this film and another Golden Globe Award for best supporting actress for "Working Girl" in the same year - the first person to have done this (won 2 awards in the same year).
