Revealing mistake: As Tor Johnson holds Paula, the police officer comes up from behind and clobbers him on the head with a wooden stick. He falls to the ground and the entire set including all the trees, shake like they were just in a magnitude 7 earthquake. (01:13:20)
Deliberate mistake: After Tor Johnson attacks Paula and the police officer, a second officer shows up at the cemetery with half of the license plate on the patrol car taped over so it can't be read. (01:09:55)
Plot hole: Eros makes it very clear that his race does not 'cling to life.' If this is the case, then why is he so determined to save everybody?
Suggested correction: What he's saying is that they don't cling to their individual lives, placing them second to the fate of their planet. Note that from Eros' point of view, the survival of the whole universe is at stake.
Visible crew/equipment: Col. Tom Edwards makes "The greatest decision of his career" in front of a clear sky, and you can see his shadow fall on the fabric covered wall behind him. (00:18:50)
Continuity mistake: The Ghoul Man is turned to bones by a ray from the alien spaceship and Col. Edwards throws the cape off of the body revealing the horrible sight. A couple of shots later they wake up Patrolman Kelton who is now lying on the cape. (00:55:30)
Continuity mistake: As Eros talks about the solaminite, the blinking light on the table in the alien spacecraft stops blinking between shots without anyone going near it. (01:07:10)
Visible crew/equipment: A crew member's shadow can be seen moving across the graveyard set as two men carry one of the dead bodies on a stretcher in front of the two policemen. (00:13:20)
Continuity mistake: As he interviews Col. Edwards, General Roberts' clock moves 20 minutes throughout the scene yet only 2 minuets of movie time elapse. (00:43:55)
Factual error: When the military are going to attack the flying saucers in Washington D.C., there's some shots where you can see trucks and airplanes in a deserted region. Washington is hundreds of kilometers away from the desert. (00:18:30 - 00:21:10)
Character mistake: The pilot says to his wife that the flying saucer was cigar-shaped. The actual shape was more like two dishes attached together. (00:04:45 - 00:12:20)
Revealing mistake: Jeff's wife is named Paula and is played Mona McKinnon, but when he is talking to her about having to hush up his UFO sighting, he calls her Mona. (00:12:50)
Continuity mistake: When Paula escapes from her house and runs through the cemetery she doesn't have shoes, but she's wearing a pair of slippers when the man finds her unconscious besides the road. (00:34:00)
Revealing mistake: Often during the film, the trees wobbles a lot when somebody touches them, like fake trees. (00:09:50)
Revealing mistake: When the flying saucers are passing over Hollywood and Washington D.C., there's some shots where you can see their shadows on the fake sky. (00:18:15)
Audio problem: Inside the alien spacecraft Jeff Trent shoots at the alien device and they overdub the sound of a bullet ricocheting off of a rock like in an old 50's western. (01:03:55)
Continuity mistake: In the scene on the back yard portico where the cop is backed up to the other cast members, the male vampire knocks him down to the ground. It then shows the green 'rays' shooting off the landed saucer and the vampire crumples to the ground. A cast member throws off the vampire's cape revealing a skeleton. At this point the cop is missing from where he fell in front of the vampire. Next shot someone helps the cop up from the ground where he is lying almost touching the revealed skeleton. Also, the skeleton used for the skinny male vampire is the same one used for the grossly overweight Tor Johnson.
Continuity mistake: As Tor Johnson goes into the graveyard with his flashlight we see the same headstones we saw a few moments earlier when the woman screamed, only now they've been rearranged. (00:10:20)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie the narrator states that the funeral for the old lady is taking place at dusk. The next scene, in the airplane, is supposed to be taking place at the same time yet when the co-pilot calls the control tower he says that it is fifteen minutes to four and he doubts that the controller would be awake at this time of the morning. (00:04:20)
Continuity mistake: When we first see Tor Johnson and the other policemen coming out of the police station it's pitch black out. In the next shot of them driving to the cemetery it's broad daylight. (00:08:45)
Continuity mistake: The soldier talking to Col. Tom Edwards is holding a walkie-talkie in some shots and not in others. (00:20:30)
