Die Another Day
Die Another Day mistake picture

Plot hole: In the pre-title sequence, James Bond travels in a hovercraft along the dirt road, which is full of landmines. Soon after reaching the waterfall at the end, trucks drive up along the road he just drove in on to capture him. As there was only one road into the waterfall complex, the landmines must have all disappeared, as earlier on in that sequence, we are informed that the only way that the North Koreans can avoid the mines along that road is by hovercraft. Plot hole: When James and Jinx sneak on Gustav's plane, Jinx heads for the cockpit. The pilot gets out of his seat and leaves, making it easy for Jinx to knock out the co-pilot and take over the plane. But what happens to the pilot? He never comes back, even when Miranda is pointing a sword at Jinx, nor when she is fighting to keep the plane flying. (01:49:30)

Plot hole: Near the film's end, Gustav is clinging to an opening in the plane when Bond activates his electrocution button. This causes Gustav to surge with the same voltage he dished out earlier. Why is he being electrocuted? The shocks are released via the glove. If he was clinging from a metal plane, the glove would've sent the electricity throughout the plane's frame as opposed to just him. (01:56:40)

Plot hole: Gustav Graves leaves Iceland in the Antonov 124 with Bond and Jinx actually watching the plane take off. Later the plane is seen in the middle of a military base in North Korea, where MI6 and the CIA cannot touch it. The flight from Iceland to North Korea would have taken at least 9 hours, during which it would overfly international waters and other countries. Surely it could have been intercepted and forced down before it reached North Korean airspace?

Plot hole: Bond and Jinx get on board the Antonov 124 by clambering on to one of the landing gear trucks. Bond gets on first and when Jinx climbs on in a shot from the inside of the landing gear well one can see from the background that the plane is moving at near takeoff speed - Jinx sure can run fast! Oh, and how did Bond and Jinx manage to run across the exhausts of the two right engines without getting blown head over heels?

Plot hole: According to Q, Bond's spy-car is essentially "invisible" thanks to tiny cameras on the perimeter that project what they see onto the sides. Except this in-movie explanation doesn't acknowledge the fact that the instant he'd start driving, dust, mud, snow and any other common debris would still build up on the outside and make it completely visible. Given that the movie takes place mainly in an arctic area filled with snow, there's no way the car is going to remain 100% clean all the time.

Continuity mistake: When Jinx and Bond sneak onto Graves' plane, Jinx can be seen with a nickel-plated pistol (this is also evident throughout the entire film). Yet, when Jinx is in the cockpit and Frost tells her to hand over the gun, it's now no longer nickel-plated but standard gunmetal black. (01:52:20)
