Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

Revealing mistake: Throughout the movie, the black cloth covering Jason's eyes under the hockey mask is really noticeable, especially when he grabs onto the rope to climb aboard the Lazarus. (00:15:25)

Revealing mistake: During the part where J.J. goes down to the boiler room to play her guitar, Jason sneaks up behind her. She screams and runs down more stairs, and then right before Jason kills her, as he lifts the guitar to hit her, in the lower right hand of the screen you can see the blood coming out of the guitar before it hits her. (00:21:25)

Revealing mistake: When Tamara pushes Rennie overboard, the ship stays in the exact same place, as if it was docked. In reality, the boat would have sailed on, leaving Rennie behind. (00:29:25)

Revealing mistake: As Sean dives into the water to save Rennie, in all the overhead shots Rennie has dry, curly hair, but in closeups her hair is soaked down straight. In the overhead shots it's obviously a stunt double. (00:30:10)

Revealing mistake: When we see a wide shot of the ship in the storm we can see the ship slide through the waves untouched by them. It's obvious the scene is a composite. (00:35:45)

Mortug

Revealing mistake: When Tamara is thrown into the mirror, in the reflection you can tell that it is a stunt-woman. (00:36:50)

Revealing mistake: In the scene in which Jason kills the captain of the boat, it is quite obvious that Jason uses the blunt side of the machete to slit the captain's throat. (00:39:10)

Revealing mistake: When Jason kills the boat captain he comes up way short of making contact with the captain's throat. He's probably a good 2 inches away from it. It definitely doesn't help that this scene is in slow motion either. (00:39:10)

Revealing mistake: When Jason strangles Eva, you can see where the rotten flesh makeup ends on his arm, and that the rest is just a fabric sleeve. (00:46:10)

Hamster

Revealing mistake: When Jason starts to strangle Eva in the disco room, a blue strobe light suddenly starts to flash. If you look behind Eva in one shot, you can see the actual strobe light come into the shot, obviously being held by a crewmember. (00:46:20)

Hamster

Revealing mistake: Obvious dummies are in the car's back seats just before it slams into the wall. (01:12:35)

Revealing mistake: When Sean and Rennie run through the two glass doors leading down into the New York subway system, you can see Jason's shadow on the wall as he stands off camera and waits for his cue to walk on screen and kick his way through the glass doors. (01:19:25)

Plot hole: In Part VII Jason's clothes were shredded and you could see his spine, kneecaps, etc. but now his clothes appear almost intact.
